CGI:IRC.
Fairly simple idea, here. A javascript based applet that runs IRC through your browser -- useful for those of you out there that hate using IRC clients in their various incarnations, or only occasionally find use for them.
Now, I'm bringing this up because I think it might be worth looking into as an addition to the website if you have the bandwidth, though I'm not sure how much it would require. If you were to install it, you would be able to configure it so that a person would simply type in a name, hit enter, and be throttled into the IRC channel you specify. Of course, it's just an idea.
And now, to explain why this wasn't put in the Website forum...
http://irc.net/
It's free to use, and you can specify your name, server, channel, and a few other options that might interest you.
Just thought I'd bring it up, seen as I'm the sort that shuns IRC for the most part, but may want to pop in from time to time, when given the right excuse. Say, to show support, or find an admin when necessary.
Whelp... there it is.
