Figured since no one else had a thread started, I'd throw this one up.

To make it interesting, I'm going to start a bit of a prediction contest:

If anyone correctly predicts the EXACT final score of the game, I will donate $50 to NR in that member's name.

If anyone correctly predicts the EXACT half-time score of the game, I will donate $25 to NR in that member's name.

No box scores. One prediction per member for each score. Duplicate predictions will be split evenly. Scores must be posted before kick-off. No edits after kick-off, of course.

My prediction -

Half-time:
Packers 10
Steelers 10

Final:
Packers 24
Steelers 20

If 0ptik's predictions come true I'll donate $10 in his name.

Also, I find it hilarious that these two teams represent American industries that are at the brink of their existence.

We had a big discussion about this over drinks on Friday night - the idea of sports being the "bread and circus" of American life, no better illustration being this Sunday eve.

What's with all these people thinking the packers are good?

Well, they were the odds-on favourite going into the game, according to the betting line.

And, it seems, the thinking was right.

My foot was squarely in my mouth, also I don't like betting line odds. The packers were okay, I thought the steelers weren't going to play that terribly in the first quarter though :(.

Steelers lost the game after the first 13 minutes.

Naw, they dug themselves a great hole, but closed the gap by halftime. They gave themselves a chance but they couldn't come through.
Really exciting game, with the injuries, scoring and great plays.

wat?

21-10?
not really closing the gap
21-10 opposed to 21-3 is inded closing the gap. without that td with the packers getting the ball kept them in the game. If they hadn't scored and the packers scored come the 3rd they'd be down 4 scores instead of 2. L2footballmath
