Well right now, not many surprising trades. There has been a lot of waivers stealing but nothing major. Ottawa grabbed another goalie from waivers.

ottawa and toronto havent acquired anyone mind blowing yet like they promised. we will see.

Any thoughts? dissapointments?

I hate how TSN over-blows this "event" to epic proportions for no apparent reason. Rarely does anything happens during that day anyways, plus, who the hell is watching at 11am and/or 2pm?

Well this year is bad cause they have made trades before the deadline. Much more than they usually do.

I was hoping that Toronto would pick up Brad Richards though. Dare to dream.

Last year I heard either Duthie or Dreger on a radio show saying it is entirely overhyped and trade deadline isn't what it used to be anymore due to all the deals going on before then/now.

Yeah, it doesn't seem like much is going on today. But most of the stuff happens right before the deadline and doesn't even get processed for a while after.

But really the only trade that seems pretty big is the Penner deal.

Richards was kind of the big name for the deadline, but the concussion probably ruined that and I think the latest rumour was that Dallas will keep him.

I really like what Vancouver just got for there forth line with Higgins and Lapierre really like them both when they were with Montreal. Hope this is enough for Vancouver to go far, but Philly and Boston will be tough to beat in the finals.

Vancouver got Lapierre? And they keep Burrows?

Holy shit - double dive trouble there. Heh.

All the big trades happened over the last two weeks, so I'm not surprised that not that many trades happened today.

There wasn't much left available anyway.
