I will keep this post updated with the current happenings of the new server.

Update: October 22nd

Barebones server ordered - on backorder
2x Xeon 5335 ordered
1x WD Rapter 150GB ordered

The supplier had the ETA as October 31st until today. They changed it to November 7th which means the earliest I could have it would be on the 11th.

Dude - what exactly do you think my company does? BTW - if you hadn't noticed - I don't advertise on the board here. This is more of a fun community than anything else. I've had a 2U Server (no, not the orange beast from the LAN) built for months now, and it's just been recently co-located.

(Adam and Adam - heh - you should notice some improvement in speed now!)

BTW Mano - "barebones Server" is not a response. What are the minimum specs you need (able to fit in a 1U, support for 4 installable procs, etc) to make everything work for you?

As far as I know Nick will be building it with components he has already ordered, like the Vid Card, Memory, CPU's, Hard Drive etc...

Rick the link that Gerry gave you is right.
We already have the processors, hard drive, and RAM.
All we need is that one unit (includes motherboard, PSU, chassis and what not)

Yeah. At the time our ETA was exactly the same so I just stayed with our current supplier.

The same thing happened. Our delivery ETA moved to the next week a day after the ETA.
This morning I scrambled hard and found a server that we'll have for tomorrow so we can setup and test in time for colocation on Sunday. Unfortunately this came at a greater cost. Juan (Entropy) already picked up $150 of it but we may still need $100. I'll know as time progresses. As of right now though, the ETA for the new server is November 11th.

[ADDON] I'll be posting all the expenses that the new server incurred once everything is up and running
