Hey guys,
For today I'm going to enable the new style I'm working on.
There is still a few things that I'd like to clean up but before I fully release the style I'd like to know of any issues that you guys may run into while using it.
I'm aware that the thank and groan functionality is no longer there, I found a new system that may work out better for all of us.
So anyway, hook me up with your comments!

I would recommend changing the main fonts to something more smooth. If you can use a hierarchy structure, I'd recommend Calibri, then Verdana, then Tahoma for main fonts. That may help with some of the cramped text that I feel has always plagued our forums.
Also, "New Threads" aren't being shown effectively on the Home Page. Previously, they showed up in a BOLD font - now, nothing.
My 2 cents.

Thanks for the suggestion Rick.
Before I set this up I was actually looking at different fonts lol
I've never heard of Calibri. I'll take a look into that.
Verdana is the font it's using now.
I've always been a fan of Tahoma. I'll give it a go as well.
This is the kind of feedback I want guys. Keep it up!

looks PIMP
The banners however could use a redo, could you maybe make public the original slot that filled the banner so people can edit into those corners that cut in on it ?? Do you know what i mean ??
Just release a PSD with a layer that overlaps the corners. Or send me the original pic and i'll create the layer for you :)
But yea, either reduce the font size from 12 to 10 or change it to something sharper.

Sounds interesting. Can you maybe provide a picture with what your final result would be like Peter?

Me likey very much. One question though, do you really need the RE: New Style test at the top of every single post in the thread? It's a little redundant.

That idea came from the Department of Redundancy Department...

I've got a challenge for you! How about if you put some STATS into that bar? Like the number of posts, donated to date, etc, that's clogging up the right side?

Easy and disgusting! lol
I figure that room on the right is going to be there anyways. We might as well put it to good use.
I think that if we were to move that stuff to the top bar then shit would look really clogged up, especially under lower resolutions. It wouldn't wrap well.
I agree that we could put SOMETHING cool up there. But I don't think moving everything from the right would be feasible.

The Killing Joke
10-24-2007, 03:19 PM
How low-res are we talking?
Fabulous D
10-24-2007, 08:41 PM
low rez prophet low... thats as low as you can get...
Knight Templar
10-25-2007, 03:19 PM
1020x768, pretty low. What sucks is the only useful part (where the writing is) of the page is 5 inches long. Fabby can tell you how that's not enough inches.
I wouldn't mind if I couldn't see the sidebars, but instead the reason I read the forums is cramped into a space less than half as big as the page
The Killing Joke
10-25-2007, 03:22 PM
I see your point - as I'm using the same resolution here at work - but you can't tell me that's what you're using at home too, is it?
