Are the things that say "scrub" and "pug" under people's names changeable...or are they based on the # of posts you have? And if so, what order are they in? Just wondering../

They are changeable at the silver contributor level and up I believe. They are updated when users reach a certain post count. The post counts and the says are confidential ;)

goes without saying that this is not a reason to spam the forums to find out.

zomg. Maybe this is the best time to bring up another new feature of the forums. This forum system has a user infraction system which makes it easy for moderators to give out "points" to people who disobey the rules or in this case, freakin post whore. Trust me, points are bad lol

The thanking and groaning system is better. They are meant to replace posts that are all like, "Oh man that was hilarious!". Now you can just hit thanks and the person still knows that you appreciate it but it doesn't create a bunch of garbage posts on the forum.
Also, with the reputation system you need to give a certain amount of people karma before you can give someone karma again. So lets say that someone had a problem with their computer and you helped them fix it. Naturally, they should give you karma. Lets say that they have a question about CS like a day later and you answer the question really well. You won't be able to receive karma for that question until the person with the question gives karma to a bunch of other people first.
Sure, I could turn that protection off (where you have to give other people karma) but when you give karma, you don't loose it so people could just spam someone to give them a frig load of karma points, or people could just get together and rotate giving each other karma.
So basically, the thanking and groaning system is replacing the reputation system and is better suited for our site imo.
