I've seen some Friendly Fire TF2 servers out there (I am guessing its a new server mod someone has made but I'm not the amazing server god mano is)
Can we possibly have one of the 4 TF servers FF again?? (old skool styles, way back in sept 2007) :confused::)):))

Isn't it gonna be a very bad idea? I mean, Heavy might slaughter half of the team while being in a mad rush to kill the nearby spy. Same goes to poor engineer who will surely burn alive by protective pyro. Not even gonna talk about careless soldier and/or demoman!

This is exactly why it's good!! Back in tha day (sept 2007) you couldn't just randomly shoot at everyone on your team to check if they were a spy, you had to be smart! A lot more strategy, a lot less reckless abandon!! I don't know, it was the same for me as CS:S with FF, so much better, better strategy, better setup, less just spamming like nuts in the middle of your teammates. Some people like that, some people don't....

It is fun to play with friendly fire on sometimes. It does make it hard to deal with spies but if you watch carefully you can catch them still.

I think FF would make the spy class a whole lot more versatile, but seeing as i don't own TF2 (damn you warhammer taking all my money!!!!) My opinion is kinda like a frog talking about flying with eagles.

Would probably be smarter to wait until an admin mod is released to handel those who abuse FF, by shooting the heck out of their team mates for fun.

i would still shoot my teammate, and i think its strategic to do so cause its pretty easy to regain health, and a shot to the legs isnt too bad

Yeah we could consider putting FF on TF2 #4 if the custom maps server continues the way it's going now.
I hated when they removed FF altogether, so I'm all for this one... assuming there'd be measures taken to ward off TKers.

I could set it up so they get banned for the day automatically after 3 TK's or something like that.

Awesome!! Do you know how to do it?? (I've searched for a mod out there somewhere but can't find anything but as I said, I've played on FF servers and seen steam forums posts on FF servers now out there...)

yeah... i would convert custom map server to ff for the competitive tf2ers... besides... if a custom map was THAT good.... wouldnt we just add it to the other rotations anyway? lol

I don't think we should have auto kick after 3 tkills, during the insane cartoon action sometimes you just accidentally blow up your buddy while trying to clear the point or cap.
More moderation of the server will be required, I promise to do my part and report any intentional tkers! :))

Umm - how would FF ON affect an Engineer's turret if it's firing on an Enemy, and someone walks in the way of the steady hail of bullets? Does this mean the Engineer's gonna automatically TK his stupid Teammate?

Yes. Just like in quakeworld tf. Ahhh I miss those days. :P
I'm all for friendly fire.. it adds an awesome dynamic to the game. Mano still need someone to test FF? I can right now. What is the IP for server 4?

Ummm...what about when trying to defend a capture point...thats going to be pretty hard to hit one guy in a pile of 5 teammates.
Although the concept is great, I see this being an epic failure simply due to the large amount of idiot TF2 players out there.

Nah, it works fine, worked great in beta, one guy isn't going to walk to a point with 5 guys and he won't storm in with 5 of his guys and go nuts cause he may kill his own dudes. Much more strategy happens with FF on. The alternative is though he may storm in and all 10 guys are trying to kill the enemy and hilarious tkills happen as a result but when this happens its too much fun, so many gibs!.
As an engineer, your turret does kill teammates but I don't think you get penalized if someone is a dum dum and walks in front of the stream of bullets.

I wouldn't worry, if it's setup on server #4 there are still 3 normal servers to play on for people that don't have the skills to play with FF.
If I recall correctly, a pyro can't actually set a teammate on fire, though it does still hurt'em. It's how you actually tell the friendlies from the spies.

On a side note, when I saw this message at work today I connected to the server quick to enable the friendly fire and got complaints right away. Then turned it back off. Everyone that was on the server didn't want it.

FF on a TF2 server makes no sense. The tk'ing would be off the wall, even if you tried to be careful. If spies were not apart of this you may be able to get away with it, however there are spies, so no.

As I said earlier, it just doesn't make sense to have FF with TF2. Instead, lets convert Server #4 to a 24/7 2FORT server or get rid of it entirely. Maybe its just me, but I've found my ping has suffered drastically since it was launched - 5ms/avg to 30ms/avg.

I agree with onawire, 2fort and Gravelpit would make a good rotation. Too bad customs didn't do well, I've actually had a chance to play some really good ones lately.

Just played FF tonight, it was meyhem. I actually liked it after a while. TK deaths went down and people started playing more cautiously. It was fun, but it was also annoying at times. Kura got killed when healing from a Dispenser cause the engi hit him with the wrench. I laughed so hard. Also, some guy killed his medic just as they were about to uber.
The difference between CSS with FF and TF with FF (OMFWTFBBQAcronyms) is that in CSS you don't have to worry about your teammate dissolving into a T to stab you in the back.
FF would see the streets of the TF2 world running rampant with *black Scottish cyclops accent* Bloody SPIES! and thered be pretty much nothing anyone could do.

The server is populating itself fairly well lately which I assume means that people are enjoying it. When I first put it on the people joining for some reason would hate it. Maybe we should have a vote?

Everyone was so confused, and they were asking me why in the world we had done this.

lol....that medic was me as well.... i got tk'd so many times but it was funny every time. I think as long as people know that the server is ff (and aren't dicks) and play only to have fun (and not build stats or w/e) then its fine.
lol when I get back to T.O. I'm going spy and sticking knives up all of your butts :)
