Well I've recently upgraded to a brand spankin new 8800gt and an Opterton 165. Now that leaves with no real use for my old parts (unless I wanted like 3-4 monitors going lmfao)
I'll probably ebay them if noone wants to buy them
both used,
EVGA 6800gs $80, good old reliable, good condition
Athlon 64 3200+ [939] $40, never oc'd, good condition
.. ftw :)
if any of you are interested post here or feel free to add my msn

What the crap Orion? Give the kid a break. He got a new CPU and GPU, which are more than enough to run CSS or TF2. What if the mobo is only a year and a half old, should he just throw it out cause it's old tech? Frig, this is a community here, not a competition to see who's got the best rig or O'C. You think his system is old, cool, but you don't need to come across as a douchbag just to let us know.

I disagree...it is a competition...and i lose...I'm the one that is here to make everyone feel good about themselves...kinda like the leafs.

I guess I should get to know community members before poking fun at their rigs (ie. FleX) but I assure you guys I had no intention of it coming off as, for lack of a better phrase, a verbal assault. I do believe Wise was running a similar setup, but last I checked AMD did stop 939 production in 2004 >.>

AM2 came out in 2006, in May or June I believe, 939 was the dominate AMD socket before then.

It was made available in June 2004 and replaced by Socket AM2 in May 2006.
Well played good sir. My mistake.

Lmfao that's for making fun of my new processor guys.
But really I am aware it's a bit dated, but it's the best I can get on 939 without getting a whole new mobo :)
Besides it was an amazing processor for it's time (though I had to buy it off ebay~). But you can't hate on the budget gamers too much.
And it'll run crysis and cod4 just fine so what's there to complain about :P
Anyways wasn't this tread about selling my old parts >_>
Edit: Fab, the 8800gt is awesome so far, I've only used it on directx 9 and it's being held back by my 3200+. I'm defidently liking the maxing out of TF2 rofl.
and thanks knight <3

hahaha dude yea, you basically just did the same stunt i pulled like earlier last year.
I used to run a AMD 64 3000+ with a 6600GT and i upgraded them to an Opty 165 and (a little while later) OC2 BFG 8800GTS
Its a great rig, and more than enough for for CS:S or TF2 :) Also if you have a good mobo and the guts to OC your new CPU i say go for it. The 165's are beasts stock 1.8GHz i have mine running at 2.55GHz. Stock cooling and only like a 5C temperature gain. The only thing i would have you check is whether or not your Mobo supports the Dual Cores on your Opty. I know mine didn't for basically the first year i owned it, but then my mobo fried and i had to replace it anyways, so i upgraded it to a s939 that allows DualCore, it made a HUGE difference.
I'm also impressed by Orions memory of what kind of setup everyone on the forums is running.... O.o

lol, all about the e-balls man. Just picked up an XFX 8800GTS ADE (G92) @ 385.95 cause I was getting pissed off at this loaner 7600GT (yn) hoping express delivery gets it to me monday.

e-balls = crossfire

Crossfire = 7% performance gain
SLI = 8% performance gain
Multiple GPU's = worthless.

the difference is notable but it makes me the difference I faced (8800GT -> 8800GTS @ ~$100)
look rather insignificant (note the second chart, 20% increase at twice the cost + you require a supporting mobo)
