Just bought these bad boys.
Now the day I bought them, I tried them out at my friends house. They worked fine, I went on vent, and chatted with calamity for a couple minutes, making sure they sound fine and everything.
I come home, my computer is fried, needed a new power supply. Got that fixed, update windows, all my drivers.
I plug in these headphones, and it doesn't pick them up and ID them as logitech blah blah headphones, it thinks its USB EMB audio device, so i update drivers and all that.
STILL NOTHING
I know they work.
Is there anything computer literate people who can trouble shoot this for me?
Try to think of something elaborate. I checked everything simple.

That is what I was thinking but I was not sure if the headset came with a sound card; but they are a USB headset just didn't see anything stand out when I took a quick look at the headset from the link provided.

You could always try Google and just type in what your problem is I bet someone else has run into it and may have been nice enough to write something up about it.

Good Luck with fixing your problem.

No sound card I believe.
just headset, went over everything with the tech guy
Think it has something to do with my USB ports.
They don't recognize it for a headset. The computer thinks is a Storage Device, remove item safely is always there when its plugged in

Did you install the drivers before you plugged them in? That usually helps.

yeah that has happened to me a few times, gettin' all excited over something, pluggin' it in and having it not work because you didn't install the drivers first...

Flex, go suck lemons man. There is nothing wrong with Logitech headsets. Ask Mano, he has gone through 3 or 4 of them - but thats because he man-handles them.

As Mr. Ball said, focus on the problem u NoOb.

No drivers come with it.
all you get is the headset and a small little guide.
The guide tells you to plug then in and windows SHOULD recognize them without a hitch.
when The headset worked at my friends ( who has no computer games what so ever) I didn't need to update shit.
they just worked.

QFT, windows update, chipset update, and try going into Device Manager and checking for updates on your USB controllers, assuming that your ports are working with other devices it simply seems to be a driver issue, and be it that the headset is PnP it's probably an issue with the USB drivers.

Did the windows optional updates.
checked device manager.
Just dont know where to begin with USB driver updates.

I'm having a great time with my Precision gamers. I've had them for over a year now and no problems (other than that I can't change the volume)

If it's working elsewhere then that tells you that there is a problem with your PC, ie you need new USB drivers, MOBO drivers, or you USB ports are shot... as has been stated.

Orion should have his own section in forums ex.[Orion|tech specialist] so that if we have any issues, then we will just post it there.

I'm far from the only tech guy on the forums, there's alot of people on here with unique specialties in the field.

Yes, but I believe you're the only guy that doesn't get flamed for helping out - the reason why I have reserved jumping in on these discussions as of late.

OK so I returned them and got a different pair. SAME problem. But i figured out that the driver is NOT digitally signed. WTF. I checked driver updates. EVERYTHING is updated, I have USB 2.0 all that SHIT. WTF. Can someone please give me a link or something where I can actually find out WTF is wrong

Everything thus far in this thread has indicated that yes, returning them would accomplish nothing. At this point you have 3 options barring full PC replacement.
1. Device Manager -> Right-Click on EVERY USB Controller/HUB you have on your list (mine is looking like about 20) one at a time and select uninstall, you may wish to look into getting some new USB drivers online and adding them to C:\Windos\inf\
Restart your computer and hope that when it detects the new devices it doesn't fuck it up.
3. Re-install Windows.
2. Get a PCI USB card with some extra USB ports and try those, cause it may be that your USB ports themselves are fuxored.
