View Full Version : Counter strike source problem

When I was in video settings fooling around with video settings (aspect ratio) and then Counterstrike froze. So I ended the program via Task Manager and tried loading it again, it will load but before it goes to the main screen (Find servers...etc) it closes the program. so I restarted my computer, tried again, same problem. Shut off my computer, and unplugged it, tried again same problem. Re-installed Counterstrike and tried opening it, same problem.

I now cant figure out why it is doing it and now I am stuck. I want to know what I should do now to fix this problem. I don't want to miss out on my first Cal O season which starts tomorrow in the evening and require assistance.

Im sorry for all the posts, but I have accepted the fact that I am cursed with Technology and hope there is someone in NR who might have had this problem before.

If it helps (I have made a post about it), I have just recently hooked up 2 monitors and I HAVE played with them both running, just now my second screen shifts to the left when I play (only difference since Counterstrike wont load). I disconnected my monitor Via desktop and it still didnt work.

Once again, Im sorry for the bothersome posts.

EDIT: And I downloaded my graphics drivers recently as well, and when it tries to load, my second screen goes black around the edges almost like it shrinks. I don't know if this will help with my situation, but I thought I would throw it up for the sake of more info.

It was suggested that I restore my computer back, which I did, and it seemed to work.

Do you have an ATI card? Do you have an AGP card?

If so, that's your problem. You have to install the drivers of 7.4 or lower otherwise your Direct3d doesn't work.

ATI needs to fix this, but they don't anymore, I think they are trying to ween out the people on AGP cards.
