If you haven't watched this yet, it's pretty much the result of what you think would happen.
That being said, the shenanigans that valve pulled during the 2nd game of Well was absolutely hilarious. Flaming Ubers out of nowhere!
Watch it here. (http://pwnage.tv/On-Demand/videodirectlink/TF2-Valve-Devs-vs-20ID/Experiment-Match/)

Thatw as the funnest match I've seen in a while, I like how in the second round Valve had at least half their team medics, almost everybody had a medic attached to them. Also the scout rush was fun, I wonder if Valve will fix that now.

Here goes this argument. Yet again, on yet another website.
This was a planned event, for the final teams in the tournament, simply because valve wanted to play and give an interview/open forum.
And thats all I will say to the wonderful "this game is dead/dying" comments.

I'll agree, from what i've seen.. the competitive aspects of the game are going. Pub will go strong though, since that's what they're continuing to modify this game to be.

What codecs are used in this video? I tried for 30 minutes to find the proper codec and was told it was WMVC-1, which is no longer supported by Microsoft (since 2004). It seems a lot of their videos use a similar codec. This site is a pos. Why don't they use divx streeaming codec... whatever.

and no ones unified anything, it should be 8v8 with class restrictions

You won't see that until the leagues decide to have a sit down and hammer that out. That should be about...oh....the next time hell freezes over :(
So I said something more. Shoot me.

8v8 with NO class restrictions. so what if they have too many of whatever class. the team that wins is the team that's balanced.

The team that wins is the one with all scouts on some maps, or the team that is half medics and half soldiers/maybe something else on others.

scout rushes only work if the losing team is fucking retarded. pubs are not even CLOSE to the level of play at competitive

Ahhh class restrictions suck, cause then teams cant gain like a reputation by useing to much of a class etc etc THATS WHAT IT SHOULD BE ABOUT! personality FREEDOM!

lol, SITs gonna get pwned :P
The real issue behind the 8v6 formats is that the "pros" want 6v6 because it's more beneficial to the LAN game (more likely of getting 6 people together then 8), there's more prize money (split 6 ways instead of 8), and it's a more individual skill (which tailors to the "pros" gaming background, as a lot of the top guys came from CSS/COD/other FPS games like Quake where the indvidual talent is in the forefront).
The 8v8ers out there are mostly the great TFC players of the past, who are used to a more spammy, team-oriented game then one of individual skill. In 8v8, if one of your players is a bit weaker, you can cover for him much easier then 6v6 (which is more elitest). However, the lessons from TFC competitive gaming should be taken into account - class restrictions.
There *has* to be class restrictions. In the early TFC days, there was a clan called Cannibal (CNBL), and they were the cheapers, dirtiest players willing to go any lengths to win - but they were also the most ingenuitive, to give them credit (Hieyeck, you woulda loved them, lol). An example: in the old well map, the middle section wasn't some giant building, but a couple long hallways blocking the way (think of the trains on the sides of TF2's well stretched along the entire map). The point is, you could get on top of them. A classic move CNBL did in a match was to go 9 engies (TFC was 9v9, predominantly) and build 9 SGs up top of that section. Needless to say, it was *impossible* to get by, even going all spies because the engies would just take you out (they had nades).
An example in TF2: there's a team (a demo guild, actually) #class4 that the demos from the Drs, Ex, and 20ID are on. They joined STAs 8v8, and with no class restrictions, went 6 demos 2 medics on dustbowl.. the opposing team just left the game because they couldn't do anything (not even uber rushes.. they'd just blow the medic away from the player and kill him).
Class restrictions have to happen.

Hahah i'm going with .45 - Prime sponsor being Lost Cauze ( http://lost-cauze.com/ ) I guess he just landed another big sponsorship with Abel Planet for $100,000... ( http://www.ableplanet.com/ ) and he's putting together a team to go try some TF2 overseas with no crits! :D:D:D Even if we get destroyed, i'm all about free trips!!! lol
But I agree about the class restrictions, crits need to go, sniper needs to go back - need a competition mod to accomodate all this.
