So i bought the counter strike pack thing for 10 bucks

But me and my buddy were trying too make are own games and for some reason couldnt even when we tried too do lane they didnt seem too read

Were both at my house hes wired and im on a wirless maybe this has something too do with it?

But even when i seem too make servers they dont even come up in the list so iwas wondering if there is so little dumb thing preventing me from doing this

Thanks if you can help :D

So you are trying to play CS1.6 on a LAN, but when you choose new game, your friend doesn't see the server on the list?

1) Make sure he is on the LAN tab in the server browser.
2) You could have him add your IP to his favourites to see if the server pops up in his favourites tab
3) You may want to try typing 'sv_lan 0' in console, even though you are on a LAN, since you are on different parts of the network, and I don't know how your network is set up it may work. You will want to put a password on the server unless you want other people to play as well.
EDIT: 4) Make sure his filters will see your server (If you put a password on it, that he sees passworded servers, etc.)

yeah ive checked them and weve tried when say i make the game steam shows i made the game and then he joins off me it would always just say the server is not responding

But i fiddle with some of those things and see if it works

i think it might have something too do with my router because i could host games like star craft warcraft 3 etc
