Wes. more specs on the card please, I might be interested... like what kind of connection does it use, and have you tried it out? or is it unopened?

PCI-Express 16X

Purchased in December, used intermittently as I've been swapping around graphics cards too often (8800GT, 3850, 3870) :)

Just like the one in the review here: HIS HD3870 review @ HardwareCanucks (http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/forum/hardware-canucks-reviews/3270-his-radeon-hd3870-review-crossfire-performance-preview-3.html)

BIOS flashed with one that fixes the fan controller (it never used to ramp up when things got hot causing it to throttle its speed), and I also re-applied the thermal paste between the GPU and the heatsink.

If you're (or anyone is) interested in Crossfire, I also have a Sapphire HD3870 512MB that I am currently using in Crossfire mode to make it $400 for the pair.

^ highly recommend this card. It beats my 2900XT HD in alot of benchmarks and my card is twice the price, somehow.

yeah 3870's are pretty sweet, fairly priced and now Wes is selling it a discount, one really can't go wrong. Great buy!
Wes when you get an 9800Gtx hook me up =D

Tempting, but http://www.dailytech.com/AMD+Preempts+GeForce+9600+GT+Cuts+Radeon+Prices/article10796.htm

It'll only be a lil longer til the prices come to Canada. And once the 9800 is out, the 3870x2 will drop. Nom nom nom.

The HIS version which Wes so kindly put up for sale, is overclocked and has the HIS fan on it, even wiht the price drops this is a steal.
Even with the release of teh 9800x2 which is gonna retail for $599(more for the oc'd version) the 3870x2 will not likely drop($450ish) at all as its sitting at a very competitive pricepoint for its marget segment. As with the results of the 9600gt's in SLI compare very well to teh 3870x2 as they scale incredibly well(most likely a driver result not hardware) so the prcing is not likely to fall anywhere substaintial een wiht the release of the 9800gts/gtx's comming in March.

I wasn't aware manufacturer announcements regarding MSRPs equated to better deals.

Does anyone else find it kind of funny that Nvidia's model numbers are going to overlap ATIs from a few years ago?

Or am I just insane?
