hello!

Well i knew my neighborhood was bad ... its not unusual to see one or two police cruisers parked outside my building or the adjacent ones at any time of day / night ... i got up the other day (for night shift) and peeked out the window... 2 cruisers... normal day..... got dressed and head off to work... waiting for the elavator i peer out the back window in the hallway to see 4 cruisers and a 40 ft tactical RV in the parkinglot lol... in the lobby the assistant super tells me its "just a raid" meh ... head to the car and just get ready to drive off when i see some officers hoisting huge bags of marajuana plants out of my building...

Health inspector comes by today... he laughs cause im white... ( im a minority in this part of town) Turns out one of the grow ops was the unit right beside me! i had no clue! i told him i'm glad i dint die in a fire and he assures me that "meth labs" are much more likely to burn places down... wouldnt doubt theres some of those in this building too! 3 operations found in my building and 49 in total from the surrounding buildings....yowsa... ... anyhow... they refuse to come in and look for mold just take my word for it... which really means theres prolly still more ppl growing pot in this place that just havent been caught yet... i dont find that too comforting... so, i check to be sure the battery in my fire alarm is working and continue my day.

heres the article and that concludes this "tale from the hood"

If they just got busted, I can assume prices will go up, through the decrease in supply. Although, not counting the quantity demand drop from those not able to afford new prices, a raid like this might prompt some people to quit the habit, leading to a decrease in demand. I don't think the aggregate decrease in demand would fully keep prices stable though, so you can expect them to rise somewhat. They might not therefore be cheaper.

Fab buddy, that is hilarious, did you have any suspicion that they were growing beside you? I'm assuming you didnt see them much... and haha KT, i dont know if macroeconomics can be applied to this scenario BUT i like ur analysis, except i think you need to consider the decrease in AD from ppl not being able to afford/not want to pay the higher prices. I see prices increasing in that area quite a bit for a little while. Until the people who are dealing smaller amounts (and who are in turn buying smaller "bulk" quantities), to people who buy smaller amounts, stop making profits and their margins disappear because of the drop off of customers (because they are occassional pot-smokers or younger ppl who don't want to pay those higher prices or cant). In turn the demand will fall until it reaches an equilibrium back at the prices it was originally at.... so really i'm agreeing with KT for the most part lol

ive smoked my fair share of weed in my day and i can honestly say i never sniffed a hint of what was going on nxt door...

try to remember 11 million or the "sugested" price tag > police estimates are never the "true" value ... its always waaaay less ....

and the operation expense being done by ppl who know ppl and favours for favours ... counting that the buildings are all owned by the same company of italians... it wouldnt surprise me if the total cost.. wiring/ lighting /seedlings/ventalation and care would ring in at less than 100 000
