View Full Version : Autobalance Issues

There's an issue with the autobalance (# of players) when a map time runs out. I've noticed a few times when timeleft is 0:00, but the map goes till the round finishes (dustbowl), it won't autobalance the numbers when people leave, so you end up with 11 on 4 in extreme cases (like tonight).

Maybe the autobalancer has an inner ear infection.

Maybe it's still under heavy development and out in an early stage due to popular demand? :)

I've removed the auto balancer on server #3
Right now all the servers are running the stock TF2 balancer
I'll see if I can look up some commandsauces

I don't think that #2 even has the experimental auto-balancer..?

Nope. #3 was just a test.

Again I say, this wasn't the auto-balancer that works on skills, etc. This is just the normal, run-of-the-mill balancing team numbers thing. After time runs out on a map, and people start to drop, it won't balance the teams in numbers, so you get 11 on 4 situations. Read the posts, guys.

Yeah, it usally happens at the end of a mini-round on dustbowl... people leave a team and you start the next round without balancing until after setup and until some people die... kinda sux when it's red that's on the short end of the stick...

Wouldn't that then be the built in autobalancer by Steam? If so, they should be notified of it...

Well there was this one situation a few days ago -- I wont mention who -- LULZ :). got autoswitched, and then left the server, causing someone else to get autoswitched, and then came back to join his previous team, because he didnt want to be part of the "losing" team.
I think stuff like that shouldnt happen, but I guess there is no way in preventing it. Just sort of sucks. :(
But I sort of understand because most people want to play with their teammates/friends on one team.
ahh ahh.. what about ALL TALK on those servers?

I wondered if anyone would get the reference to an inner ear infection...considering the inner ear contains the vestibular organ, which plays a role in balance.

My Aunt has a perpetual one, so I got it too - but then decided to make a Family Guy reference that no one got.. oh well.

If you want «ALL TALK», join the TNR ventrilo server. I prefer having «Team Talk» in game so we can plan strat... also avoids getting spammed by people from the other team... It would be hectic if #3 was «All Talk»... too many people... luckily, not everyone has a mic! ;)
