Not to be too serious but I wanted to post something that has touched me this past week. On St. Patty's Day my co-worker's 17 year old son was killed in a car accident. It made me stop to think that life is precious and that we should all take time everyday to love the ones around us, think about those we have have lost and be happy with the life that we have been given. I have been very touched by the death of this young man and I wanted to share it with all of you. Maybe it's a little reminder as well to be safe when you are out driving around.
This link is a video from his highschool's x-mas show last year.

Nice post Kathy.
Wise words too.
BTW I love that Lenard Cohen song... I first heard it in the movie "Saint Ralph" with Gord Howe from the Hip singing it.

One of my friends that I've known since I was 4 committed suicide about 4 weeks ago. Made me realize that anything can happen at anytime and I should try to make the most of the time that I have with all my friends/family.
Hearing about young people dying is the freakin worst.

lol k
theres this guy down my street who never got off his ass and hes around 50 now and he still lives with his mom. Hes a hunter but he sold guns to a kid on the street (not me) and got his license suspended for 3 years and he gets drunk and smokes everyday in the park behind my house. His mother just died a week ago hes all alone. His family wants him to sell the house so they can get some money but he wants to stay in mississauga instead of pickering. Now whenever im going out to the highway i see him stumbling home cause hes using alcohol to get rid of his problems
So my moms distant cousin in austria, a cop, married a girl and they had a kid. He was all happy but then they got a divorce and hes heart was broken cause this was his first real relationship. He started drinking and used his gun to comit suicide because he couldnt see his kids.

There's a good way of asking, and a not-so good way... How about sending your condolences, and asking what the circumstances were which led to the accident? Perhaps asking who was at fault, or if alcohol played a part?
That way, you're not automatically assigning blame to the deceased, and you don't seem unfeeling.

i just found out on the weekend a girl i used to go to bars with last year died 2 weeks ago. Meningitis.
Its horrible, her friend found her collapsed on the floor in her apartment and her parents didn't even make it to the hospital on time, she was already unconscious and never woke up... was dead the next morning

Sorry to hear about that Cathykins. Sad times, and life goes on as it always does. I won't say live each day like it is your last, but enjoy each day as much as possible given the circumstances :D
