is it possible to somehow vote for the next map that the server loads up? went to a server last night where they had that and i figured it'd work real nice if people felt like skipping 2fort.

Na, people would skip all the maps I like!
And besides we all know it would turn into another 24/7 dustbowel server.

I do agree with Nekkris here. What would be the point of having a rotation when they would just choose the same maps over and over?

Because its hard to consistently vote past a map unless its a really bad map. 2fort and CTF Well come to mind. I think this is a great idea, because I know I leave when 2fort and CTF Well come up on any of the servers. Screw dustbowl I'll make it a badlands server.

ctf_well has been removed from the rotation on all of the servers so pretty much the only problem here is 2fort. Perhaps instead of votemap I can enable rockthevote with a high percentage

Wtf guys. Those are 2 of my favourite maps.. Now I'll have to find some other server that rotates CTF_Well and doesn't cut 2fort. :(

well i mean in the situation where..say cp_well comes up when its a small group of people on the server (5v5,6v6) and those people want to get a smaller map. you would be able to vote for something instead of having to wait the rotation out and possibly lose players

2Fort is fine. Specially on TNR where it requires teamwork to be able to get that intel out of the fort when the server is full.

Could the "rockthevote" suggestion Mano gave be rigged to only show the next map on the rotation along with the high vote percentage? That would at least give us the power to skip a bad map but not throw the whole rotation out of wack.

Nope.
rockthevote operates randomly or by nominations. :(

that sucks winston. but yeh, put RTV need to have a 80% for one map or cancels out idea. can you do that?

really? randomly? weird so would that mean that the rotatio would start from which ever map was chosen next? i.e. GP->db->mach4 w/e is next?
If thats the case its not a bad option.

That's a great idea. It would definitely prevent the 24/7 dustbowl syndrome.

Would it be possible on 3 to make it so we could vote for gravelpit without having gravelpit in the rotation? So say there are 15 regs or so on #3 that want to play gravelpit next in rotation they could vote it in.

Is that why you guys want it on #3 so much? Do you think a 32 man server with regular maps would do well? I'm kinda scared to touch the dustbowl server. It seems fragile when changes are made.

I always thought 32 man dustbowel was kinda dumb in theory..
A map that suffers from spam (see: demoman) now has moore people to demospam.

Leave #3 alone, there are so many people that are regulars to that server because it is 24/7 dustbowl. If you want to make a 32 player server with reg maps increase eaither server #1 or #2 but don't touch the most popular server out of the 3 of them.

It might be interesting to try #1 as a 32 man server but I don't think it would change things much. I would be up for giving it a try.
