We will be arranging a large one in June or July most likely. Once we resurrect the organizing committee.

I haven't opened up the organizing committee section on the new forum because there was no activity in the old one because no one could find a location. Once we have an actual location we can start planning.

Hmmmmm I know a club owner in toronto. They have a big space @ queen and bathurst. I wonder if we could just do it at his club.. I will ask him.

That would be awesome Green. Keep in mind this would be no free-bee. If we have 30 to 50 people, thats a lot of food and drinks, which they could do well at providing for a cost. Check into it anyway and see what they say.

Hotel isnot a good idea. They wont take it because it is too crowd for them.

Langer, the hotels will love this business because they are set up with conference space and very large meeting rooms. This isnt going to be held inside a hotel room; there would be no room to squeeze 50 people with their PC's. lol

Another idea would be a banquet hall, I know of a couple LAN events held at places like that. Best part is there are no hotel rooms around you or anything so you don't have to worry about noise, or smell. Lol.

You'd have to find one that would deal with such an event though. Probably have to try calling first.

we could probably host 1 at sheridan college aswell... we have some big lecture halls where it would be no issue with 50+ PC's hooked up, we also have class rooms that connect and u can drop 30+ people per room with the doors open between it all if u wanted 2

by rooms connected i mean the following:

haha my pic got all messed up but i think it still gives the general idea... 3 rooms all able to walk from 1 to the other without walking through a hall... great for group scrimming if u want or just group gaming

honestly, i'd have to ask a buddy how he sets up the LAN's he run's @ sheridan... give me a couple weeks, after exams and the cottage party im going to on the 20th.. so like around the 25th of april gimme a shout and i will most likely have an answer 4 u.

i know the LAN's he threw durring the school year started after classes around 8pm and went til like 3 or 4 in the morning but with the LAN being in the summer it could probably start alot earlier and go just as late should the need arise for people to play CSS or other games for so long.


EDIT:: 2700sq feet of open basement is always nice for gaming 2 LOL but i definately dont have enough outlets for so many people =p

Anyone done any further investigating for a lan.... or did people want to get together and just go to Lanapalooza....?? it is a $45 entrence fee though (then another $15 I believe if you want to register a team for 5v5 play) I would be interested in doing something (my bro might to) mind you we live in Ottawa so a little heads up about what is goin on and possilbe dates would be greatly appreciated.

i gotta shoot off an e-mail to someone to ask about facility usage, i wont get the email address until tuesday though, and the earliest i would expect a response is by the end of the week. like i said, im going to be away for about 5 days after that any how so.... 2 weeks from now i can probably give winston the answer. as for the pics u want winston, i should have those for u by tuesday night
