Ottawa Crew going to Toronto Wonderland!

I don't like to make this public, but we (OTtawa) trying to plan a trip to Toronto's wonderland. So who from Ottawa would like to go (bring your friends) and meet up with the Toronto people at Wonderland?

I know if we bring many people, it will be one big chaotic pub at wonderland, but everyone will split off with their own little group and we could meet up again while eating dinner or break. The more the people the better discounts we get. So who is up for it?

I have created many events, and you wont imagine how stressfull and complicated the process is managing N amount of people. Cause the range of people vary to what we could do. If you guys rather just go your separate ways, I will just cancel the event and just say "Alright guys, we are going to Wonderland, whoever wants to come, be there" Informal kind of way. Ok so since this thread is so much fail and I mean FAI mother fucking L. If you want to go to Wonderdland on the weekend of August 30th send me a PM on the site, or by msn (richardlennox125@hotmail.com) or on steam freinds or, make a post saying that you would like to come and I will keep a list going and then when it gets closer I will send everyone a PM on the site to confirm your atendance.

You will be responsible for buying your own ticket and once we get an idea of how many people are going to be showing up we can pick out a meeting place to group everyone up before we all go in for our day of fun.

Oh and if people are also interested in on the Saturday going and grabing some drinks I would also be down for that, so send me a msg or make a post saying if you would:

BTW... The planning would be the following (Will and myself are trying to plan out where the cheapest tickets and hotel's are and figuring out how many people need rides) The event will be like the following. SharpShooter, not everyone drives like you so driving to Wonderland would take at least 5 NORMAL hours.

Saturday Morning we start driving, (since some people are lazy, we will plan departure time around 10 AM). Since we will be arriving there at around 3-5, It would be kinda useless buying a ticket for that day, so we will be planning to go to Niagra Falls and enjoy the Wonderful nature and eat and maybe go get some drinks at night before the big day. Then we get a hotel, we have some hookups on that area, so we will fit 4 per room, women and men of course separate. Then we get up early in the morning and drive to Wonderland.

Therefore the schedule would be the following:

30th / 10AM - Ottawa DEPARTURE
30th / 1PM - Afternoon Snack at around 1PM
30th / 4PM - Arriving at Niagra Falls
30th / 7PM - Dinner
30th / 8PM - Chilling at night (anything)
30th / 9PM - Hotel
30th / 10PM - Sleep
31th / 8AM - Drive to Wonderland EARLY
31th / 10AM - Wonderland Day
31th / 7PM - Drive back to Ottawa
31th / 12AM - Thats all folks! Get ready for work next day


^^ Rough schedule for (some people in Ottawa). We will try getting group discounts depending how many people show up, and hotel discount as well, whoever plans to come with us from Ottawa. Later on next month we will plan which restaurant to go to so we wont cause riot at whatever location we choose. Give them a heads up and maybe discount as well!

Aight as far as I go, I will be heading up sometime eaither friday night or saturday morning (early, really early) and then heading to Guelph dropping my brother off and then depending on what people are doing or want to do I can meet up with some people and go around Toronto (never really been around the city) or go to Wonderland on the saturday and on the sunday (it is like $55 for a 2 day pass), then depending on how things go at night I can eaither crash back in Guelph at my brothers apartment or at some random location, and then get up early and head to Wonderland on the sunday.

Wonderland opens at 10am just to let everyone know and it closes at 10pm and since I have never been there before I will prob stay until then and then drive back to Ottawa (or even spend another day in TO then drive back on the monday), so if people from Ottawa want to stay later until 10pm that is kool, however I have no idea what my driving situation is going to be as far as driving people from Ottawa to TO as I will have all my brothers shit that he is taking back to school.

Umm... last I checked... Niagara falls is about 2 hours going west and then south of Toronto... just fyi if you don't know. I'm sure you probably do but it just seems to me that it's a little far from your target.

Depending how fast you drive and traffic the falls are about 2 hours from downtown Toronto, Wonderland is probably another 35-40 minutes on top of that.

Some things to keep in mind: they won't allow you to bring any food whatsoever in the park or drinks, except possibly bottled water and maybe a few things if you all claim to have "dietary needs" or are diabetic or something. I think they check almost all bags at the door via security people.

The food is even more insanely priced than what some of you may remember. I shit you not, a lousy chicken burger meal with fries and a coke cost almost $16 after tax at the kiosk my girlfriend worked at. A foot long hot dog is something like $5-6. A drink is like $4. A burger is like $8... for just the burger.

I understand that Paramount was bought out by some conglomerate from the States who ratchet up all the amusement park prices by very large margins. Incidentally, this is why the rides are renamed and pretty much all the Paramount tie-in stuff is gone as the park no longer has the licensing for those characters and movies.

The best thing to do is to just leave the park and cross the street and take your pick of any number of fast food places for a fraction of the price. The quality will be better, guaranteed... If you need to bite the bullet and buy stuff in the park, funnel cakes are decently enough priced (by Wonderland standards) if you split between two people. There's also this pseudo frozen fruit slush type thing that you can get for like $4 (+tax?) that's probably the best deal in the park. I forget what it's called though.

Since we can't manage this event from a forum, I am going to give more detailed information in the facebook event page.

We rented 4 hotel rooms for saturday night and 4 hotel rooms for sunday night. Still, no one from Ottawa(NR) messaged me or is coming except richard and myself (tagging along many of my friends). The way it is going to work is that we are going to:
Day 1) Niagra falls (we are so going to the haunted house, and many other attractions)
Day 2) Wonderland (rides)
Day 3) Downtown Toronto (shopping, attractions)

So far, I know about 12 people are tagging along so that is what we are planning for. Toronto crew could reach me on my cell to see where we are.

We need car pools, and/or ideas on car pooling.

i have come to the conclusion that on the majority, people hugely suck at organizing things.

when i do stuff i plan it like this. "ok guys im going here at this time and doing this, come if you like." period, end of discussion. Plans fall apart when theres 10 people trying to put something together and everyone wants there own 2cents put in then nobody shows up anyways.


Just a tip for future events - pick one leader. listen to them.

Next time making a trip to another city, I would like a definate response, and even my local friends are ditching ...
