View Full Version : Stickies going thru walls?

Saw this today for the first time - might be an existing issue, who knows I usually don't sit and study my stickies when I throw them.

I tossed a few stickies on #3 & #4 today in setup - I noticed (at least in my view) they went thru the wall - disappeared - but still were counted on my ammo count, and still killed when detonated. (however I'm not sure if they were "thru the wall" kills of not)

When I placed them, they were ON walls, not at some weird juncture of a gate or something where you could shimmy one thru - but on a solid wall - but on screen they didn't display, they appeared to go right thru.

Anyone else seen this?

Where at in 3 and 4?

I know in Dustbowl on the last part in front of the left gate (past the right gate if your Blu) if you put stickies under the metal sheet part on the wall the stickies disappear for whatever reason.

Occasionally, I launch stickies that are "absorbed" into the wall, then pop up to the surface a second later. Maybe something like this happened, where they were "inside" the wall?

Who knows, though.

TF2 has been getting buggier and buggier. Valve is doing backwards updates :P

It's like BF2! Fix one balancing issue, create three others!

Yep exactly.

Like I said it wasn't like a 'trick/exploit' it was legit shooting AT a wall...and they just vanished...or like you said, absorbed would be a better word because I could still kinda see the glow from the sticky, but not the sticky itself.

Yeah Morti I've seen that but on settings for my SNES system I was running. I have seens lous rockets go thru walls but as for the stickies usually it's rare are hard to make out but i'll keep an eye out for ya.

kritzkrieg will fix your problem usually = p

that actually sounds like a computational error - could be valve's RC implementation of multi-core processing. if you've ever played garry's mod... you know a lot stuff will start intersecting with walls, then when you release it, it does funny physics things.

Hah, yeah, wiggling buildings for the win!
