The site is much more IE friendly, i'm using IE6 right now, but some of the avatars are causing lag here at work, especially Landspeed's. Just an observation.

agreed. those of us who haven't donated yet aren't guna take a liking to this pay for avatar stuff, but it's understood and i'm sure we'll adjust :/

Yeah. I know what you mean. The website has a less "friendly" look to it. But the theme is functional and clean which is why I chose it.

I do like the fact it has a search function, not sure what all the groan, thank-you stuff is. Is it just fluff? I like the member list as well. Is this a PHPBB program? The look is not that much different than before....a little darker but we will get used to it. Nice job Winston (I still don't like having to pay for avatars and sigs though). Thanks for all your hard work...I appreciate it.

I know it's not a lot of money, but the fact that every single other forum out there has free sigs and avatars because it's usually just put in as a feature for every message board possibly in existence makes it seem like a big hassle.

Many of the site that has the option to automate the processing for these features to members take advantage of it. Either that or they only allow avatar usage to moderators or administrators so they stand out. That's what I want, I want our contributors to stand out.

I have donated I plan to donate in the future anyway...it's the principle of feeling you HAVE to pay to get other features (plus you can't have a signature unless you are in the top 2 packages...some people can't afford to be paying that much...including me). I think that is all anyone is saying. Donations before were just that...a donation. Now it is a subscription. It has a different feeling about it. But like I said earlier we all appreciate Winston's hard work and we are not trying to slam this but it is obvious an issue with more than one person.

I know what you mean Kathy. The way that I looked at it though, is that now when you donate you can get something in return. Kinda like our way of saying thank you. I know what you mean when you say that it has a different feeling about it, before you were donating just because and now you are actually buying a service.

I seriously never thought that this would be an issue. Let me think about it and if you have any suggestions let me know.

Same thing. You're not paying for the signature. You're donating to the site and getting a signature in return. It's not meant to be affordable. Look at it this way, if only 21 people are gold contributors monthly ($14.99), we've met our donations fully.

Yeah I can see why everyone is a little ticked off about it and I'm extremely happy that our members are being mature as always and not making a big deal out of this and keeping it a humane factual discussion.

I'm going to go ahead and make the change now. Signatures will now be available at the bronze subscription level. If you ask me, $14.99 for a whole year to get everything you had before is reasonable. But that's just me I guess lol

The sig's will be available at the bronze and silver levels in approx 20 minutes.

Is make Custom avys and sigs the bonus....while having a regular avatar that's stored on the site (Something small nothing past 75x75) just so that at LEAST a person doesn't feel all plain.
