On my gf's laptop, she disabled her wireless card. Now when i try to enable it, it still says it's disabled even though it has been enabled via the device manager. It says something about the radio on the adapter being disabled and it needing to be enabled via the radio control switch...

Not a clue

On some laptops there is an actual switch on the front or on the side that enables or disables the wireless adapter. Take a look for that. If you don't find it, please post your laptop model number.

You can disable/enable in the BIOS. So if everything else fails check out the BIOS

wireless internet sucks for gaming. My res-net owns me, i get like a 10-15 ping like 90% of the time but every minute or so it completely dies out for a second and i get raped.

Today it was just consistently bad.

It sounds like you should blame your roommates more than the internet, if just losing connection gets you a free butt-slamming.
