Should there be a dedicated channel for users on our css servers? One where the only talk should be in-game related chat.

The current layout is pretty unspecific, and I find myself flip flopping to channels with more game related conversation going on (or less conversations in general, lol).

Yes: Change the layout to include a css in-game chat only channel.
No: The layout should remain unchanged.

Here's the problem I see with this:

Lets say that you are in the chan Calamity and then someone comes on and wants to talk to you but isn't in-game. You don't want to stop playing. So now what's up?

They pop in ask if they can speak with you, if you want to you can leave the game and go talk to them if not tell them maybe later?

I agree that it's kinda a pain when people talk about random stuff when you're playing and they aren't even in the server. It's like "STFU and take it somewhere else I can barely hear what's going on.". There really should be a more dedicated slot or something or impliment a more strict policy.....cause Mic spammers piss me off to no end.

while I don't use vent (because of the issues discussed above), I think a 'team-work' channel would be awesome... The channel would be designated to those who want to co-operate with teammates in the game (with subchannels for T/CT) and would be restricted to talking about only in-game related issues, and even more specifically only about information that will assist your teammates... i dont know if its possible but setting it up so anyone could kick anyone else not keeping chatter to channel-defined topics would be cool... that way those that want to play seriously/co-operatively with teammates can do so without having to hear bitching about it 'being a pub' (because personally, css is most-fun when theres 10 ppl/team and the team is working together)... so i vote in FAVOUR of the dedicated co-op channel

I also agree, 1-2 more channels would come in handy with regard to keeping things like crays music to a minimum.

okay. I'll set up the channels next time I have enough time to do it. I won't be able to setup this user moderation thing so you guys are going to have to let either Green, Skullcrusher, Landspeed, or myself know if there is a problem in one of the channels. Keep in mind though, that if it becomes too much of a burden, it'll get removed.

I kept the channels pretty basic for now because I can't see people actually leaving Vent and changing channels when they get team switched. It would be sweet if Ventrilo could do this automatically...but you know lol

I think making a CT on and T one would be great..... that way I can play T and sit in the CT one and just unoffically ghost. Basically adding new chanles it totaly useless you may not think so but no one is honestly going to stop talking in them... I know I am not because if I want to talk to someone I will do it, if someone else is playing a game merly switch chanels. I might sound like an ass saying this but give it like a week and you will all be doing it again. NO ONE AND I MEAN NO ONE, can say that they don't talk to others when they are not in the game.

The only way that it would work if some how the server could recognize you in the game and then grant you access to the chanel, however to my knowledge this does not exist. The other option that you could do is password protect it..... but wiat everyone plays in the pub so again useless.

You may think I am an ass for being so upfront about it but w/e I don't really care. I think it would be really neat if you could do it, but I just don't see an obvious solution. If there is one by all means do it but just by adding chanels will only spread people out into different chanels and will cause a lot of alt-tabing to move chanels to talk to the people you want to.

That is just my big two cents.
