Just dropping a friendly hello to everyone in the Northern Resistance. Looking forward to gaming with you and perhaps learning some new techniques from you.
Just a little about myself.....
37 year old father of two WONDERFUL children and one FANTASTIC wife. She is fantastic because she has learned that if I game on the computer, she doesn't have to fight with me for the T.V. remote. First wife couldn't figure that one out....hated video games.....divorced....'nuf said. Besides......who the hell wants to watch Survivor anyway?!
I live in Azilda, ON which is fifteen minutes north of Sudbury, ON. Have lived in this area for most of my life. And yes.....I do work at Inco. Flash Furnace Operator to be exact. Fifty metres away from the second largest phallic symbol in Canada....the Super Stack. Up yours, CN Tower..... we were the first big boy in town.
I've been a closeted gamer since Pong was an entertainment sensation. I used to calculate my personal wealth one quarter dollar at a time. My dream was to own an arcade. I decried inflation when Mortal Kombat 3 was a loonie to play. As a kid, I got a Commodore VIC-20 for Christmas and was the envy of all my friends. Today, my Athelon Duel Core gaming rig cost about the same as my VIC-20 did then. Completed my university thesis on my Commodore 64 and dreamed that one day I was going to own the ultimate gaming machine....an IBM PC 486 with a math co-processor.
I sold my soul to DOOM.
I was put on suicide watch when our local internet cafe/gaming centre went out of business.
I would love to go pro......or at least semi-pro. Few people around me believe that this is a legitimate career choice. My goal is to get banned from every pub server....without cheating to do it.
