i must admit, i bought this software expecting to never have to use it. but as of last night i actually had to use it. lets make this short, sweet and simple.

setting up the software:
- follow the wizard. need i say more? god is it ever simple

creating an image:
- easiest wizard ever. it asks you what partitions you want to create an image of, what information on the partition (should u choose to only image SOME items) and where you want to save the image.

- you can create the image on your existing hard drive and the software will hide it from your computer (ie. your computer will have no idea the image exists on the hard drive but the software will). or you can chose to save it on an external hard drive / location like i did.

re-imaging:
- start the program (duh)

- click the re image option right on the front option window when it opens up.

- select the partition(s) you wish to re image. (it will require u to restart ur computer to re image), it will then boot it's own program again and ask you to quickly go over what u've alrdy done to make sure nothing changed.

- next it asks you what partition to image (again for confirmation reasons. it will also warn you not to run 2 OS's off the same partition assuming ur image has an OS in it)

- finally it asks you how big you want the partition and then u finalize it.

how well does it work you ask?
- it works very well and fast to boot!

- it deletes all the information on your partition and images it back to what ever the image was that you chose to put on your computer. it took me no more than 30 minutes to go from all fudged up to working like a charm and an additional 20-30minutes worth of windows / firewall / antivirus updates and i was back in running order!

in short:
- about 1 hour of your life to get back in working order versus 4hrs - 1 day + worth of your life to get back to working order if u reformation + reinstall everything!

this program is great! i highly recommend it to anyone in the market for some backup / imaging software!

notes:
- if u save the image on an external location like i did, u can image it to any computer u want as long as the acronis true image software is installed on that computer. (fast way to image numerous computers all the same way if u really wanted to)

all in all i give it 10/10! it works like a charm and is a serious time saver! i set the image to run, jumped in the shower and by the time i was back and ready to go it was right there waiting to restart back to the windows OS for use once again!

total elapsed time: just over 13minutes (less than 14 minutes) + about 30minutes to update OS, firewall, antivirus, java, etc...

I have used it before but had no luck with it. I used version 7, 8 and 5. Mind you all those versions were err, not 100% genuine.

What version are you using?

Oh ok, thanks alll the same. I don't buy software without knowing if it works or not (thats why I get trials etc to make sure first).
