Quad core seems a little unnecessary...I mean, yeah, it's cool to say, "look at me, I've got a Quad-core," but really, games aren't even fully using dual core processors to their maximum capacity yet, as far as I know (maybe i don't know much, i've been off the PC for a while). If i'm wrong, fill me in.

I agree, although a quad core would be sexy I'm pretty sure it is overkill

It has less to do with its overall game performance and more to do with it's multitasking capabilities. Like the article says, the idea behind this price drop is to bring people to a market that would normally have been overlooked. Just cause CSS wont take up all 4 threads doesn't mean that those 4 threads wont all be occupied.
