Yes, the time has come that I need to sell my 1989 Saab 900S. It ran very well a couple months ago, but I need to charge the battery. My Mechanic said the engine still had half its life left, and its got a minor exhaust leak which is preventing it from passing the emissions test.
I've put over $2K of work into it, but its up for a very, very low price - only a few hours left on the auction and a good number of "watchers"... If anyone's interested in it, I encourage you to bid.
Thanks!

How big is the trunk. In other words how many dead bodies would you be able to fit in there?

The trunk is extremely large. There's a pic online where someone fit a full size fridge in the back of theirs.

You know it. One day, when I have enough money, I hope to have another Saab 900... Perhaps a nice turbo convertible. I've seriously never driven such a beautiful car, regardless of how she looks on the outside.

This is the kind of thing i would love to get ahold of and play with for a bit....Drive the shit outta it and scrap it.
Just wish i had a few more days to come take a look at it.

You have your wish. My sale didn't go through originally on E-Bay, so I've just put it back up there... starting at ONE DOLLAR. I cannot edit my original post, so here is the new link (http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260481856011&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT).
I've since had the car charged, and it runs, and I've been able to drive it up and down the driveway. If you're looking for a great little car, or know somebody who wants a car, I urge you to point them to it.
It's going to sell this time, regardless of how much I get for it, but I'd really like it if somebody bought it who wants it.

I'm 37, and I was paying just under $100, I believe.

$250? Are you not getting a new vehicle to replace this? If so, you can't get more than $250 for a trade in???
**Auto-merged Double Post**
Take the car to the junk yard, the steel alone is worth at least $150.

Nope. We're doing ok with my Wife's car... In a bit, when I'm out of debt, I'm planning on going looking for a nice 80's Saab convertible.

I'd personally prefer not scrapping the car. It's better than most of the cars I've driven, and still has a lot of life left in her. Better to have someone drive it who either a) appreciates it or b) drives the crap out of it.

Well, I'm happy to report that there's a bunch of interest. I guess that's to be expected - there's probably more than a few kids out there saying, "Hell, I can have a car less than a paycheque?!"
I'm hoping it ends up in a bidding war - it's looking good early, as we're up to $22 so far. In the first day, that's usually a good sign. When I originally posted it, nobody bid, but that's because I put a $300 reserve on it. I should have trusted my instincts back then, and just started it for a buck.

Yeah - some guy that has the exact same feedback number as me, and a seemingly identical user name to mine has bid quite a few times on the car. He probably just wants to buy it low and have you set it on fire and record it and put the video in the "vids" thread.
Or something.

I don't believe I'm selling "setting fire to my car" services, but if "he" wins it, he's welcome to do whatever he wants with it.

I know, eh? Ah well. I'm happy with the results thus far, although I'd be happier if they had more feedback. I'm always concerned they're just new accounts that go "nah" after winning.

I'm pretty tempted to be honest, but I have concerns about maintenance and upkeep costs. Plus I already have a stellar car and this would be a downgrade. I don't know why I'm posting this, but I feel like I owe it to the Saab

I appreciate that, Mike. I'm really happy with the maintenance I've had to do, to tell the truth. After sinking in the original $2000 and replacing the cooling system (and spending $6 on replacement belts) I can't see anything overly expensive that could go, but then again, you never know.

Good, 'cause I made sure to put "If you win it, you are responsible for picking it up from me" in the auction body... So, you can fly coach or whatever you want.

True, but since I'll have payment within 7 days, it can sit in the street for as long as it takes for you to pick it up.
