Heyy i just bought my a laptop off my friend "Bananafromhell" for 250$ but the only thing is that the DVD/CD ROM drive is missing and i couldn't find it online but I could only find the updater and that doens't work. But in System theres a circle with a exclamation mark in it and im not sure what it means. So I was wondering if anyone could help me find it.
Its a Aspire 5040 laptop and the CD/DVD ROM drive name is

HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-4082N

thanks.

Ok
You have an LG DVD RW
GSA is the LG prefix for DVDRWs
4082N is some sort of model number that LG doesn't have on their site
That being said, I still have no idea what you want

You want to buy a new drive?

Good luck

90% of the parts on a laptop are proprietary meaning if they break go back to the manufacturer for a new one. And they literally charge an arm and your left testicle :D

This is part of why laptops are pretty useless ><

Does the drive still work properly? If it does then it is probably a driver issue. As long as the drive is still working fine, don't worry about it.
