Wow, fail, the option is obviously for people that would WANT to go to the lan but can't really make any of the dates hieyeck put up, not for failures that don't bother.

its SNOW not a death trap.

I thought it might help give peeps some time to find a place to have the lan. rather than trying to find a place in 3 weeks.

I'd drive from Montreal for a Xmas lan as long as it's not during my ski trip or other various Xmas parties. I'll pick up 0ptik too so don't worry about him :)

If there is a christmas lan and I can make it I will give anyone a ride up that would need one from the Ottawa area.

so i read this thread again.... i have a few things...

its SNOW not a death trap. +1... aren't you people from the great white north? or are you all frail little surfer boys like ona?

Its also the difference between a 5 hour drive and a 12 hour one. I assume you're talking about the snow... one time i started what should have been a 7 hour drive in 2 feet of snow so it took 10 hours. who cares.... you're only allowed to cry when you've been driving for 16 hours.

2 - all wheel drive
3 - learn how to drive
4 - give'r
5 - if you really wanted to you would
6 - stop being a wuss
7 - dont you live in toronto<3<3<3

my two cents, I only have 3 of those things (3, 5, and 6) and i'll be there (work schedule permitting)

+1... aren't you people from the great white north? or are you all frail little surfer boys like ona?Even ona and I made a trek to Ottawa earlier in the year for Lanopolis. A frail surfer boy and an immigrant >=(

but seriously, this was to gauge a response, see if I should bother to dig up a place. From the looks of it, no dates meet a financially acceptable number... (I think $60-80 per person is a little out of even skully's league).

Christmas is possibly the worst time - most of us will be away with family or out of country, leading to much failure.

I would attend the ottawa lan but its already 13 hrs from my house to toronto. i don't know if i can make it any farther. Anyways, Ive concluded its about time I meet the ppl i talk to in vent almost everyday. So I am willing to do anything that can make an NR lan possible. So what would need to happen to make a aug/sept/oct lan possible. Just more ppl?

Whats wrong with something in oct/november. Everyone will be settled into school/sick of school and want to get away for a weekend.

The planning for this LAN started way too late. Talk about it should have happened in March so that it could take place in June/July. It's too late in the summer now and chances are it won't be as successful as previous ones simply because of school, end of summer activities, or other things.

20 people is less than half of the interest that was shown in the previous LANs. Maybe next year the event planning committee will get it right.

Cleavage Monkey
August 2nd, 2009, 08:06 PM
Maybe next year we will be able to find a place to house the LAN. If it were as simple as before one would have happened already this summer.

Aww I was really hoping to go to a LAN in Toronto. Does anyone know of any upcoming local Toronto events - maybe outside TNG?
