On a related note, the backseat of my old dodge caravan is storage in my garage cause we had it out for the winter when it broke down and got scrapped.

$2000 for a car that needs $3k work is a bit steep. I know its a newer model, but thats a lot of risk and cash required up front that most people do not have nowadays.
