There was a small joy in watching the game last night.

With 3:30 left in the 3rd, the Habs were up by 2 goals.
The crowd decided right then to start up with the "Hey Hey Goodbye" song.
I thought that was a little early to be busting that out, so I cheered a bit louder when the Leafs scored to bring it to within one.
I almost leaped out of my seat when they tied it up.

I agree, and if you've watched their last 5 games or so they've outplayed the other team pretty consistently but dont get hte bounces they need or make 1 or two key mistakes due to the inexperience of some players. Also macdonald was only in because toskala and jonas were both injured...

as for the picks wait til the trade deadline, that's also ignoring the list of young talent that's been picked up

gustavsson, schenn, stalberg, tlusty, bozak, kulemin, kadri when he makes it

all young players that are good now but still have that inconsistency you see with most young players, given another season or two to develop and

hell kessel's only 22, assuming he bounces back from injury he hasn't peaked yet

yea i think a couple of burke's moves were dumb and when people see he traded for beauchemin that doesnt exactly scream rebuild lol but its happening. They brought in burke to revamp the team and that's what he's going to do, eventually, but you don't remake a franchise in 1 season and anyone who thought he'd be able to was being silly.
