Pretty compelling story. When I saw the highlights this morning it looked like something that they were going to make nothing out of, nothing ever seems to come of shitty officiating. I wondered if they at least had video of Auger talking to Burrows in the warm-up. Apparently they do and that combines pretty well with the bullshit calls to point a guilty finger at Auger. I do agree with McKenzie that there's give and take between players and officials, that's to be expected, but throwing a whole game over ego goes too far.

Yeah he's a tit, but that ref is deciding a game outcome.

League just handed Burrows a $2500 fine (for shooting off at the mouth instead of handling it "properly") and no suspension. No word yet on Auger's input.

It makes no doubt that Burrows is right. Auger is a stupid asshole...He was an asshole when he was an official in our junior league in Qc and he is still an asshole in the NHL. Not proud that he comes from Quebec...

The NHL is a joke when it comes to officials.

Who knows what's going on here, but in general, the NHL probably blatantly disregards the rules more than any other sport and any criticism directed at the refs is ignored and punishable.
