Just my two cents - Don't shop there, don't order online, don't phone them and ask them for nothin. This has to be by far the most irritating place to shop. Maybe its because I'm a regular white guy, cause getting service from these ass wipes is like asking for a pint of their blood. God forbid if I disturb them while they are busy stocking LCD lint wipes onto the shelves.
When asked to see a product behind the glass the guy walked off and started helping other people. I checked my underarms - nope, no smell there.
This is now the third time I have been pissed off by these cock sucking whore mongers. I refuse to set foot in their sweat shop again.
Buy your shit elsewhere and send these guys back to the village they came from. I will even charter the boat.

most computer stores are generally like that i find, and i felt the same thing there
not being racist, but some of these asian employees cant even speak english and dont know shit about customer service, like the cashier at the mississauga site just fucks around on msn and facebook for 20 seconds before serving the next customer in line

Yeah, their low prices come at a cost. I've had ups and downs with them, but it's like going to a burger king for the service, not worth it.
Now if you want to save some $, and they have it available, it's usually a good place to go.

True... thanks Phil.
Turns out that was the best deal available too Phil. Even with air shipping it was 15% lower then the whoresons around the corner from my house.
:-)
Oh yea, I declare today 'shit on CC' day. And anyone else that pisses me off today.

directcanada charges you no GST cuase they ship from BC

08-10-2007, 07:29 PM
i havent had a problem with CC, as long as u've done ur research in advance and walking saying "i want this, where is it?" they'll help u right away, especially if u have the product name, product code, etc.. takes them like 2 seconds to find exactly what u wanted and ur out the door
Knight Templar
08-10-2007, 07:37 PM
Peter, you mean PST?
I won't ever order anything online from CC, but if I can pick up something in their store, it's likely the lowest prices around (except for sales)
DeathSniper
08-10-2007, 08:24 PM
Weird. I've never had any problems with CC - even with returning a product. I once purchased a 'final sale' video card (AGP) for a friend by accident and returned 10 minutes later with my buddy after realizing what I did haha. They let me exchange it.
Personally after being there multiple times I find it to be sort of a 'no frills' type of comp store - just like silence said - if you have the info on what you have and 'I want this, where is it?' you're pretty much well on your way.
If you don't like cc - directcanada is pretty good and has great prices.

The one in Ajax hired a lot of white people, and it was completely empty when I went in.
The Killing Joke
08-11-2007, 06:53 AM
The one in Ajax is 5 minutes from my house, and like everybody says, if you know what you want, you shouldn't have any problems. It's like a bunch of stores today though, if you're going there to look for expert advice or opinions, it's a crap shoot as to whether you're going to get the service you're looking for.
Me, I'm one of those guys who already knows what he wants, and doesn't want anyone else's opinion. Usually, because they're wrong.

Wes, thats because its Ajax dude.

canada computers is by far the worst place to shop. i live like 10 mins from it and i would way way rather drive the 30 mins to tigerdirect. or even order from ncix.
The Killing Joke
08-11-2007, 10:35 AM
So, you'd rather spend 30% more at Tiger Direct? That's dumb. ;)
SKULLCRUSHER
08-11-2007, 11:46 AM
No, that's smart Rick. If you havent had issues with this place, then fine, go shop. For those of us that have had regular issues with bad service, ignorant staff and attitude, i'm sure the majority of us would go farther and spend more to get what we want.
Its the same for me when it comes to restaurants, if the service sucks and the wait staff are assholes, but the food itself is good, I go elsewhere to get a better blend of all these things.
Regardless, I will go elsewhere from now on. Direct Canada seems to blow these guys away with their pricing and service to date.
The Killing Joke
08-11-2007, 01:37 PM
It's smart only if you're paying for service, and not the exact same item. If you have troubles with the service, complain to the Management. Don't just expect the issue to fix itself.
I'm sure with a well registered complaint, service would improve. Statistics show that a company that doesn't learn from its mistakes doesn't stay in business long.
TheGreenBastard
08-11-2007, 04:16 PM
im still gonna say fuck CC, they are bastards and i would rather give my money to another store. I bought my sound card from TigerDirect for like 50 bucks less then they had it for at CC. Oh , and my headphones for much cheaper as well. Canada computers prices are really not that good. Fuck them to hell!
SKULLCRUSHER
08-11-2007, 04:25 PM
If you think that anyone at CC would give a flying fuck that someone was complaining about their service, you obviously don't know the ownership of this company well. If the lack of business from people like me is not enough to fix the problem, then they obviously don't see it as a problem and only feel it necessary to cater to those they choose.
And you are paying for service, otherwise there would be no glass cabinets and you could help yourself without their assistance.
Oh and stats are BS. The company that I work for is living proof of business done in a manner that could be improved greatly and increase revenue significantly. Yet we still do things in a manner that we are comfortable with, dis-servicing the client base regularly, yet our revenue is always up each year. If they changed the way we did business and started providing true customer service and support, the revenue would be even bigger. So, as long a the company perceives it is making money year after year, doing business they way they do it, there is no pressure to change and improve things.

I think ur concerns are only in the stores around you guys cause @ the Waterloo store they've been a great help, the service centre sucks my balls (they told me they'd call me when my pc was done, i waited two weeks to call back and foudn out it was done the week before but they didn't call... but it was a woman i was dealing with so what can you expect?!)... but the customer service reps I've dealt with @ waterloo have been good, informative and pretty cool (they joke around a lot, its an easy going place)... and the way I view the high amount of AZNs is it's a good thing cause they know the most (and this may be a little racist but I'm not a racist but since dealing with Computer XS and them being mostly brown, I can't stand dealing with brown ppl and computers, they seem to try to screw me over all the time, something I havent had to deal with @ CC)... maybe you guys are just getting stuck with Ignorant T.O. AZNs lol

Yeah, the Waterloo store is pretty good. While I don't have a comment on the asian/brown thing, I've always been able to get help if something's gone wrong.
Moral of the story, compare prices, go where the sales are. At least none of us are like, "guyz for cereal, dell.ca for big deals"

Wiseguy you fucker
And about CC. I've never had any problems with them. Their service has always been prompt and I've never had any hassles. Maybe because I'm asian, or maybe because I (think I) know what I'm talking about. Or possibly different locations might change the employees' attitudes towards customers, I don't know.

You want something from them. Grab them and demand it. Be ordering.
to most people this seems rude but to these chinese guys, it seems to be the only thing that gets past all their "ignoring barriers"
"can you show me that please?" <- gets you nowhere
"show me that one." <- works!

For those in the GTA, www.infonec.com appears to have prices comparable to CC's but I haven't shopped there myself. If anyone does has dealt with them, hearing your experience(s) would be appreciated.
Like it has been mentioned in the previous posts, it's important to know exactly what you're lookin' for before going in. I don't expect much from retail staff these days. I have found www.hardforum.com to be great forum for reviews and opinions.

THREAD RESURRECTION!!!!!
I was just gonna say...
But to continue to argument. I have never had an issue with them. They have their quirks but if you're willing to be a little patient everything usually works out fine.
And I still can't figure out why everyone says NCIX is cheaper than them...
NCIX will offer sales on items which will end up making the price cheaper but for regularly priced items CC is usually cheaper.
I was just recently put on to directcanada.com but I haven't used them yet so I can't say how good they are. I have heard they are easy to deal with and there prices are close to what CC and NCIX are.
If you want good service, go to Futureshop...I'm sure any one of their excellently trained and extremely intelligent employees will be able to help you find what you need/what they want to sell you.

You know what the funny thing was, I went in there the other week because I had no choice - needed replacement RAM for the SuperMicro and they had 4 in stock. Dealt with another guy there on this visit and he was actually pleasant. However, I was watching the guy at the cash desk who I had dealt with before who has about as much personality as a 3 day old poop. He was dealing with two Asian gentlemen in suits who were buying something small, but the manners he had with these guys was beyond what you would see with us Caucasian folk. He even bowed to them at the end of the transaction, which is obviously a custom from their country. Sure enough, I got the usual treatment at the cash and not so much as a 'thank you' or eye contact.
Next time Gabe your coming with me man !

infonec. service is... efficient. they're not pleasant, but they're not pricks. ask and they answer, as long you're not an idiot and don't waste their time. their prices are comparable and often times cheaper than CC. i've done business thrice, but i haven't built a full system with them yet.

lol, you better bow back then Gerry ;)
Direct Canada is NCIX's sister store and I have had no problems from them. I did have to RMA something but it was pretty much painless - I know they charged me a restocking fee and I had to submit an approval to get that through.
Infonec is pretty good as well - never had a problem there either :p
Sheesh, what is it with you people ;)

I've been there a couple of times...that store is definitely not the best of them. I used to buy from the Markham head office before they stopped doing retail sales there. Now, if I'm ever in town, I usually go to the Richmond Hill store which is actually really good. The staff are fairly easy to deal with at that store.

Thanks for the info, Hieyeck. I receive their weekly e-flyer and I've been pining for a new system forever but naturally hesitant considering the big purchase (as I don't build my own systems) and heavily depend on a stable 'puter for work. I've shopped at CC a few times but their professionalism is questionable, imo.
