I, for one, think it's a cool looking game, but I can tell you that my proc and video card don't make the cut. So, it looks like I'll be waiting awhile before downloading it. (...and yes, kiddies. It IS available - preorder - on Steam!)

I've actually been playing it on the XBOX 360, today. It's... different. Requires some forethought at times, because you tend to lack firepower early on. It really reminds me of Abe's Exodus, and it's sister PSX Oddworld game. It's kind've goofy, in it's 60's, bad horror flick way.

All in all, it's fun so far. I'd suggest trying it, if you get a chance.

And I tried 'testing' (loosely split between 2 weeks for Acti in Cali & a few internal beta test for other games ;)) before for a few weeks - no thanks. You'd *think* getting paid to play video games would be fun, but...not when you're playing the same damn thing over and over again trying to crash/find errata/bugs in it o_O Sure, it *can* be fun...but the single player is freakin' brutal...

doug and i torrented it. from what ive seen in the demo, the levels are amazingly well detailed. it just sucks that i have such a shitty vidja card and i get an amazing amount of fps lag. if i do end up buying a new vid card, im definately getting this game

lol. you guys think you have it rough? the computer I just finally got reformatted (my one downstairs for those of you who know) can barly run WoW good. and only runs Source somewhat good after a full reformatting getting everything installed and tweaking my DX level down to 7. so I know for a fact I wont be even looking to this game till after I get a job finally. yeah Ive been looking for the longest time with no luck. but yeah, the game does sound cool, and the reviews Ive seen of it already give it some cool hype.

its also in Mr. Beans Vacation as pretty much the theme song for that and its in a commercial that i see all the time too.

If you own or play bioshock you MUST read the article word for word. Especially the "advanced tweaking" part. You will come out of it with a smoother running game garaunteed.

There is actually a config setting in unreal 3 engine to reduce mouse lag. But it actually makes the moust feel fucked up.


The game runs not bad on my X1900xt. I can keep the core settings on high, but need to turn of shadows, since I am running at 1680x1050. I also found when I overclocked my core2 from 2.66 to 3.66 I got a nice fps increase. I think "high definition post processing" strains the CPU a good deal.

Either way I am in "Farmers market" currently.

Bioshock is available for both the 360 and the PC. I'm currently playing it on my AMD 3200+ PC with an nVidia 6600 card and Windows Vista, and it works fairly well. It's a little choppy, but I've also only got 1GB of onboard RAM, so that could be part of the issue.

I like it. It's worth a look. (At the very least, DL the demo from Steam.)

the dual storyline is complete bs, and the way u can die and have unlimited lives is somewhat annoying but i guess it was necessary
but most of all the mouse accel was so annoying, i just played it as fast as i could and never touched it again so my cs wouldnt suffer
