(please paste this over my first post. The rest is pointless)
The inaugural AN LAN is official!
AN is hosting it's inaugural BYOC LAN party. There will be no-fee if you have a weekend pass. All others must purchase a LAN-only pass or upgrade at the LAN door.
Details
- Location: Shertaon (Formerly the Renaissance)
- Time: Friday 9PM (may be earlier depending on a previous event in the same space) to Sunday 4PM
- Pre-register a spot to guarantee yourself playtime! Email: ministryan@gmail.com to pre-register.
- Seating: First-come, first-served. We will endeavor to seat you with friends if you emailed for your group of friends. One email per group please!
- Wait-list: Spots will be opening up to wait-listers at midnight. Show up by then with a computer or lose your spot to your loose timing!.
- Disclaimers: There will be a disclaimer you MUST sign at the door before you are allowed to participate. Nothing common-sense won't tell you - the event organizer is lazy and just doesn't want to get sued.
- Hackers: get caught here and you will be made a public spectacle. The disclaimer (that you MUST sign) explicitly allows us to do so.

IT IS CONFIRMED. (can someone update my thread topic to "Anime North LAN - CONFIRMED - MAY 28-30 and append the contents of this post into the first post?)
Due to the last minute nature of this, there is no fixed number of seats. The event is confirmed to happen, the location is yet to be determined. We're looking at 30 to start, but it can go higher. email me to pre-register your seat, this event's registration will be handled this way for this year, just so I can give you guys priority for seats.
I am negotiating admission. I don't think free is really an option (altough a possiblity!), but I hope to get a reduced price for the weekend - hopefully not more than entry fees to previous LANs host by NR. Keep in mind, that even though the fee would be the same-ish, it'll also let you into the convention proper with NO restrictions.
It will MOST DEFINITELY be BYOC and power bars and really long network cables. If you have an extra computer that can be used as a server, please let me know. I will personally pick you and your computers up (if needed). Disclaimer: I will also kick you in the face if you lied and have no server when I show up at your door.

I had to veto this for the 3rd year in a row =(
our anniversary falls on that same weekend. Couldn't really swing it because of that. Maybe next year. I really want to make it down for this con again.

So where is this going on since you are talking about paying to get in. Does that mean it will be in the convention centre and you will have to buy the card to get into the dealers room to gain access to the lan. Every year i go i dont even bother with getting one of those because i do not buy anime or anything i just go for the fun/parties etc.

Update my good peeps! (don't bother appending this to the first post, i'll have a proper update saturday)
Cost will definitely NOT be more than $40 for a 48-hour over THREE day LAN (remember, the last NR LANs were about $35 for just a 12-hour day!). In fact, in preliminary discussions, it will probably be much lower than that if you're attending the LAN only! The con is not looking to profit, merely to cover the cost of renting the room (in fact, they may even eat some of the cost!)
In all likelihood, I will be able to negotiate weekend passes for $40 at the door - FYI that's the same price you'd have to pay for a weekend pass if you were in a 10+ group and pre-registered as an early bird. I encourage all of you to take advantage of this and get admission to everything for a little more than just the LAN alone. All rates I'm listing here are special rates going out to NR people only - others who register when it's advertised on the website and elsewhere will have to pay up the full fare of a weekend pass.
Confirmation of EXACT pricing to come Saturday, but spread the word amongst NR peeps!
Again, you can leave your full name here or email me if you want it private, but I will need it to reserve a spot for you!

It has nothing to do with not being good at TF2. It has to do with knowing right from left. There are plenty of people in the TNR community that aren't as proficient at TF2 or other games that I get along just fine with.
That being said I really hope you're joking.

I was joking but you did previously rage pretty hard and not just about the left/right thing either. I'm sure it will be fine regardless.
And moe that show Is really good I liked it.
