LAN Sept 3-4-5

The first weekend of September marks one of Canada's largest LAN events. The École de technologie supérieure will be hosting several tournaments at their downtown Montreal campus and is offering cash to the top three teams.

TF2 will of course be featured, and while this may be a far trek for the Toronto crowd, I'm looking to see who would be interested in forming a team. The location is quite nice and there are tons of amenities around the event.

I already have a few replies, but please post in this thread if you'd like to give it a shot!

The entry fee is $45 and you can get all the details on their website. Cash prizes will double if more than 8 teams sign up, so even a third place means you got to play for free!

You can actually stay at the LAN, they rent out the university's gym so all you have to bring is a sleeping bag and preferable a mattress because gym floors are hard.

I think I'm getting a ride with some random who's going to the LAN (aka carpool with rando's), want me to see if there is still a spot available?

Alright, I'm going to this.

It's actually a pretty good deal. Downtown Montreal for 3 days for $45 is pretty cool. I know I won't play the whole time, but there's so much to do in that city that it'll be a lot of fun.

I highly recommend other people going, especially if you want to join me in exploring montreal

Word on the street is that passport is bringing a hot plate, so we'll be able to make some awesome espresso

Somebody get some video of someone on row O's screen and keyboard/mouse while playing pls. I've always wondered what they look like at that level.

Even though I live 500 feet away I'm probably going to be too busy to actively participate. If I have time I might pop in to say hi and watch a match but that's about it. Just not a good time right now.
