Re: 102 Minutes That Changed the World

I also saw the second plane hit while watching live news coverage. I was in 8th grade at the time. Once we watched both towers fall, we walked back to our classrooms and just sat there... no one really said anything... no one even bothered to turn on the lights in the room. Even though I wasn't directly affected (I did know several people who were), I had this overwhelming feeling that this event was the pinnacle of how unfair life could be. Those people didn't do anything wrong, they just showed up for work like any other Tuesday. That thought still makes me feel very helpless :/

I remember taking this picture. It was eerie and unsettling thinking about what it must have been like to be there on 9/11. I was in grade school when it happened. I remember going home for lunch and seeing the situation on CTV. I had no idea what the heck was going on since I never understood that someone would intentionally crash a plane into a building.

Looking west at sunset, nice pic. How long ago was it taken?

I think this is from last year, but it's still pretty funny.

I think the saddest part of 9/11 is how easily the terrorists "won", 9 years later.

Explain to us how we could have made them "lose" 9 years later.

Not to mention al-Qaida has been tremendously wrecked by the invasion of Afghanistan

There are lots of theories though, check out http://www.slate.com/id/2208971/ for a neat recap of some of the major theories as to why al-Qaida hasn't attacked the US since 9/11
