How do I get there?

Type "/warp omega" for the easy way, or for the scenic route sail due east from montyville following the bedrock torches (bear north after the canal). It would be a good idea to "/sethome" before you depart from where ever you were in either case.

Why would I want a lot?

Being a land owner in Omega means that you have an assigned part in the world that no one else can destroy. Everything you place in that area is unmodifiable by other players (civil engineers exempted). This means that you can now safely store your items in chests.

I want a lot, how do I get one?

Only registered community members will be allowed to own a 16x16 spot in Omega city. If you haven't registered yet, now's your chance (click here). If you're already a site member, see below.

I can't build or break anything in Omega City, why not?

That's the point! Only designated civil engineers will be allowed to add/remove/edit the common areas of the city. Land owners are allowed to modify their individual 16x16 lot to please their own eye as long as it does not detract from the overall pastoral beauty of the community (i.e. no 16x16 towers to the sky ceiling, no 16x16 holes to bedrock, and no penises!)

Where are the minecart streetcars? Where are the water ramps? Monty, what have you been wasting all your time with?

Cool features like this are in the works, but until Notch gets them working properly in SMP they can't be implemented anyway, so there's no rush. Hey, have you seen that Colosseum? Yeah, that's what!

Is that a dock down by the water?

Hells yeah! Take the water slide down and grab a boat at the bottom!

That's clearly a Colosseum. What's its purpose?

Because mobs are off in the world right now they're going to be spawn-able in the Colosseum so you can still get the items they drop. Later on when the functionality is added, it's going to be converted to a PVP arena.

When people start getting settled in we'll probably have a community competition for Central Park fountain designs. One will be a water theme with the base in snow. The other will be a lava theme with the base in obsidian. See the current fountains for the size of the bases. for the lava one you'll have to be sure not to set the surrounding trees on fire!
