    Economy?

Ok, here's an idea i've been toying with for a while now and i wanted to see what the MC community has to say about it.

We have this plugin available that add economy to minecraft. This will allow us to setup shops where you can buy materials you need to build your stuff. If you remember the October incentive where you could transfer your TNR donation into stacks of blocks, that will be coming back but with money instead of the actual stacks.

Mobs can/will also drop money when killed. So you and a friend can go out in the wild to kill some mobs for money.

Everything is still up in the air right now, and i just wanted to hear what you guys have to say about this. Interested? Opposed?

Also, please try to keep the conversation about economy and not what plugins we should have.

Curious: what's the name of this plugin?

There are 3 to choose from and it's likely going to be a combination of plugins. I don't know which one is best yet.

I would be interested if the amounts of money weren't ridiculous for items - like you have to kill 800+ mobs just to get one diamond, or something like that. It should be reasonably easy for players to accumulate money, I would think.

Also - if any of the plugins have gambling options, we should go with those.

No, the amounts will not be ridiculous, but i won't make it too easy to accumulate money by killing mods. Obviously, a donation will buy you much more than killing a few mobs, we want to reward people who donate. I was thinking of keeping the basic structure mano had setup for the October incentive.

I will keep an eye out for gambling. I only saw a lottery plugin so far.

Yes, yes, a million times yes. But only if you can set up group shops.

Lottery would fit the bill, yes.

I just mean I don't want it to be a grind. I hate grinding.

Example - if killing a mob = 1 gold, something reasonably rare (like a diamond) should cost 50 gold, not 500 gold. Donating a dollar should get you 25 gold in this case. This is sort of what would make me happy.

Its not like we're taking away the ability to mine. If you want some diamond, I think we all know how to get that without grinding for gold.

In fact, I know of a way to get gold without even killing mobs

Here's what i had in mind.

    As per this post:
    http://www.northernresistance.com/fo...ems-amp-Blocks!
1$ donated gives you a stack of 64 dirt.
I would take that 1$ you donated and give you 10MC$ (that's minecraft dollars). So it would cost you 10MC$ for a stack of 64 dirt.
Essentially whatever you donate, you multiply by 10. So do the block costs.
Mobs would drop about 0.50MC$ So you have to kill 20 mobs to be able to purchase a stack of 64 of dirt.

The list will need updating, but the structure basically remains the same. And here are the data values for reference.

Please note that we are not trying to monetize minecraft blocks, but rather reward people who do donate.
