Unbelievable, Dallas lost. That must sting. Getting beat by the team in 22nd place.

    Looks like the match-ups are:

    [1] Vancouver vs. [8] Chicago
[2] San Jose vs. [7] Los Angeles
    [3] Detroit vs. [6] Phoenix
    [4] Anaheim vs. [5] Nashville

Pretty tough to call. Being up against Chicago must be a mind-fuck for Vancouver.

It's tough to predict the West.

I think Vancouver will win. Chicago just isn't as good this year, and Vancouver is better than they've been in the past.

San Jose is an easy choice to pick for a choke, but I don't think they will. LA is missing Kopitar, and Williams. Williams seems like he'll return quickly, but probably won't be 100%.

Just because I want to call one upset, I think the best bet is Detroit. They aren't as good this year. Zetterberg might be hurting. And Phoenix will probably be able to keep all the games close.

Anaheim should smoke Nashville. They seem to be playing too well right now. Goalies are the only concern with Hiller having vertigo, and Emery having hip problems again. And Rinne can be unreal. But Nashville is a team that just doesn't seem to have anything special about them to push them to a win.

I didn't get a chance to watch any. Fucking exams.

I little surprised at the Pittsburgh game. I get the impression that Fleury was stellar, which isn't a surprise given how he's played this season. But I kind of figured the Pens would be badly outshot and really have to grind their way to a win. Of course, not having watched, that might very well have been what happened.

I guess the Washington game is a little surprising too. From the little bit I've taken the time to talk about it seems like the Caps were on their way to losing until they got a flukey goal.

And, while it's not over yet, I didn't think Anaheim would be shut down. And I didn't expect Nashville to put up 3 after 2 periods.

ovechkins goal was such dirt, i would love to see the rangers beat them

the only series i cared about tonight was hawks canucks and it was a fantastic game after watching the leafs all year, luongo is still shakey imo but he has the best defense and the deepest team in the league in front of him

Not really play-off related but I'll throw this in here anyway:

    The Bettman Ultimatum

The NHL is preparing to put a gun to the City of Glendale's head and will again use Winnipeg as the bullet.

Reports that Matthew Hulsizer's $170-million bid to purchase the Phoenix Coyotes is dead may be premature but it appears there is only one chapter left to be played out in this saga.
