Still a shame they called it not caught.
Why was it called not caught? it didnt touch the ground. I always wondered, if you threw your glove in the air to hit the ball with your glove, and the ball falls into your hands. Would that count as an out?

cause at full speed the ump called the ball had dropped on the ground, MLB dose not have instant replay yet, but...... hopefully that changes very very soon. too many times this year has an ump blew the call =/
If you did that, the play would be called dead and everyone (batter, baserunners) would be granted two bases (from where they were when it happened), according to the rule books.
The same rule would apply if you threw your glove or hat at a ball that was bouncing past you.
