dosbox is pretty awesome, i used to use it until i built a proper dos machine. cheap as hell as well - apart from the 2.8V voltage regulator module, that was like 20 quid. problem with dosbox is that you actually need a reasonably powerful pc to use it well, i used to run it on P3/P4 laptops and they struggled. most dos games are happy with dosbox but some are quite picky - they dont even like windows 98se that much, and thats a dos based os.
