Wow, Gagner follows up his 8 point night with another multi-point game. A mere 2 goals and 1 assist this time.

It was so exciting to watch the beginning of that game. Lots of good solid hits, some good fights, and some decent scoring. That's what good hockey is all about.

We're coming up on the one-year anniversary of Scott Gomez's last goal.

That's just unbelievable. The guy used to be nearly a point-per-game player, and at least a pretty consistent 60 point guy. He's only 32, I don't think you really see significant performance drop-offs like that until players hit 35+. And I don't remember him having any really significant injuries.

Well his role changed. In Montreal, he passes the puck much more often than when he played with New Jersey. In Jersey, at least he played with players that could pass the puck to him very well. I also think he's trying to be more of a leader in Montreal. A role that he didnt need to fill in Jersey.

For those people crying about everything being a penalty now and that the game is for pussies because you can't hit anymore:

Penalties calls are at the lowest rate since the lockout.

I like the speed and pace of the NHL right now, there's a high emphasis on puck possession. I wish the Sens were better on defense

Are they counting suspension minutes in that?

What do you mean derf? He posted two stats and they have nothing to do with suspension minutes.

My point is - some of the suspensions over the last couple of months have been unwarranted, and I think that seems to be affecting the game more than the perceived "clutch and grab".
