CAMPING IS THE NEW META
Zone defense, which has been part of basketball since forever, was outlawed for decades in the NBA. I don't see why the NHL can't enforce it.

In my non-hockey watching opinion, I think it's the responsibility of whoever has the puck to keep the game moving.
Legitimate strat. Why should anyone have to play into the other team's defensive system?
they lost anyways...lol
There really isn't a problem with these defensive trap systems. Teams can get around them. The problem is when the refs don't properly call penalties, especially interference. It's one thing to get around some kind of zone defence, but it's another thing to do it when the defending team is able to expand their reach by grabbing at players and impeding them when they don't have the puck or proper body position on them.
Others have said that teams should be allowed to play to their strengths. So if you have a bunch of injured players like Tampa Bay did and can't effectively mount a forecheck and are stuck relying on sitting back and waiting to counter-attack they should be allowed to do that. But they shouldn't be able to shut the other team down by hooking, holding, and interfering with players who don't have the puck.
Why should I have to WORK for everything?! It's like saying I don't deserve it!
And they wonder why Tampa Bay has some of the lowest attendance in the league.

I think what Tampa Bay did was not wrong, but not 100% right either. Then again the same could be said of the Flyers. If you are not good enough to beat that system of defence, then you are not good enough to beat their team. Forcing teams to commit to one strategy over another is not a good idea IMO.
Hockey is supposed to be a fast paced game. Fans dont pay good money to watch a team stand around.
