1.Make all TNR server NO NOOBS ALLOWED servers.

In RTS games it is just part of the culture to make games called No Noobs, or Pro only yada yada....

I think that is what TF2 should do......fill a niche.

What is so wrong with good players wanting to pub with good players. After this game has gone free to play it is plagued with horrible horrible players. They completely ruin it for loyal fans like myself.

Give any longtime TNR player who wants to play lots of TF2 pubbing admin right (including myself) and we can kick an ban anyone that is clearly not playing up to the proper standards of play.

Noobs have the right to enjoy the game....but so do I.

Ya sure you can't always tell who is bad. It is not like we are going to kick people for having bad aim.

But for doing clear noob plays....you get the boot.

Never building a tele on offense as engi....thats a boot.

Holding a full uber on a guy then running forward with him only to turn around and let him die......thats a boot.

The whole blu team is capping the point/pushing the cart in, and you are a sniper standing off in the back zoomed in on nothing.....thats a boot.

If the whole team thinks someone is a noob.......he is a noob.....and goes bye bye.

Anyways this is my last attempt to salvage my favorite game. :P Its not like the TNR servers could get any worse right now.

Ya but if you make it overtly clear that is is for skilled players, we might attract skilled players. If I noticed how horrible infested TF2 is with horrible players, surely there are other people thinking the same thing. Lets try it. What do we really have to lose?

Also, not everyone in this community is at your standard of pro. Every member has a right to be in the servers with or without your "approval". What if you kick a member? or a friend of a member? Your plan falls apart after that. Your judgement will be stained. Its a broken system that wont work.

And you are requesting admin also? for what? for your judgement? I do believe that most people here has always frowned about your opinion in any thread. I dont think your campaign with work. Nor will all pro server work. You can play with your "pro" friends in the empty server, it will be the same thing if it is pro or non-pro.

By your logic a restaurant that is not getting good business should not discriminate against people currently partaking in violent crimes.

I would like to get more people by making it more attractive to a certain audience by removing undesirables.

And you are requesting admin also? for what? for your judgement?

No because i am the only one who has consistently played TF2 and is the most readily available to play TF2 on NR. Go message anyone and see who is most willing to join the NR server and help seed it. I am on the top of that list and have been since before you ever heard of NR.

Its not about being pro, its just about actually being experienced in the game. Not doing horribly things. Pro is amazing aim and skills. I discriminate against people who sit at the second point building a sentry at round start while everyone runs to the first. Just don't be a total idiot.

Experienced player friendly servers are just as ethical as noob friendly servers. They provide a better experience for a certain group of players. If you don't like that idea for NR that's fine, but don't try to argue that it is illogical.


I am the only one trying to do something about these servers, no one else around here give two hoots about them.......just me it seems.

If you sweep away those who don't follow guidelines credited by experience, you end up forcing people a way to play. No matter how lenient you set the basic outline of a standardized form of play, you still deter one of the cores of the game: casual play.
Casual play in the sense that they discover and learn how to play as they go along, if they suck, are inexperienced or simply are terrible, you can't ban them on that basis because the side-effect would be that those who already play better would feel obligated to keep up that standard and it draws away from having "fun".

Agree, we're in a rut and populating the server is tough, but your approach assumes the identity of the problem and it assumes this "problem" is one everyone agrees upon (example: "I don't play because too many fucking f2p scrubs don't do bla bla bla"). It could very well be a multitude of issues.

I personally would like your idea, but ethically it's very challenging and makes huge sweeps.

Nothing wrong with that, the only thing that can be deemed inappropriate would be the fact it isn't contributory to the team's goals. One of the challenges of Team Fortress 2 as a whole and all cooperate games for that matter. If someone doesn't want to play with a utilitarian view in mind, then why should he? If they get kicked, why should people maintain that mindset when it's only one or a few that actually like it?

But it's more towards organized crimes and gangs or the mafia.
