We can't get players on an entirely open server as it is. I don't see how being more restrictive will help.I say we try a passive strategy.Fundamentals seem cool, advertising to a group of players in hopes of attracting that niche.
A. Change names to TNR NO NOOBS 24/7 Dustbowl or something along those lines.
B.MOTD and server messages stating and reminding our "initiative".
Our initiative ....
To provide a pub experience for more seasoned TF2 players who have a stronger grasp on the mechanics of the game.
We could have server messages that don't directly tell players to get out like "TNR aims to cater to only the more experienced TF2 players". This does not explicitly state "if you are noob get out" but I am sure some people will understan that they are probably better off on a noob friendly server. If they don't get the picture.......we won't do anything about it (since it is argued that there is a flaw in the whole actively booting system).
If we develop a distinct culture on the server, I am sure the players on the server alone could let people know that they might not want to play here if they are learning.
Just changing the server name could make a big difference.
I think that will be an effective and politically correct way of implementing it.
I also still think we should give admin to very active players (I don't care if it is not me).
