How are you getting supplies to your armies on the European continent when you play as the UK or the US? Don't you move into France first and then start attacking Germany? Are none of your armies in France getting supplies?
As for the lines, they don't show up in my version. We'll see tonight with the newest version.

Supply ability changes depending on the relationship with whatever country you're in. When I invaded France in my game I was really invading Germany, and I was invading from British-annexed Italy. Supplies and Fuel was shipped from Plymouth to Genoa and then over land to my forces. Had I come across the Channel I would have had British territory occupying French land, supplied by whatever port I had captured, and it would only revert to French land if I captured Paris and liberated them. When I liberate them, we'd be allies and the supplies would flow magically.

The only problem seems to come from supplying your troops in a non-allied country you have travel rights for. In the UK AAR I posted, the author says it's easier to simply conquer the countries in your way. Seems broken to me

That does seem broken, really... although I guess it does encourage you to move your troops along in a timely manner?
