how much of a boost could I realistically expect compared to my Core2Quad Q6600 / 4x2GB DDR2-800? I've had the upgrade itch for a while but I haven't been able to justify price vs performance gain just yet.
I don't do any of those things though, pretty much just gaming. I'd assume I'd see a shortening in load times (which are pretty good so meh).. I was watching the performances while playing skyrim earlier today.. cpu was hovering at around 50% while gpu was at 100% (HD5870), though I wasn't watching each core, just summary.. so dunno if I'd get a boost in fps or not.. ah well. If nobody else jumps on this right away I might just do it.
If you want to save money, OC that Q6600 to at least 3.2GHz. Should be easy.
No one?
I'm waiting on some news. if it's good news I will buy it. should know early next week if not sooner
