Not just me, but a number of people are complaining about choke whenever the action gets heavy. Can you try bumping the ticrate to 100? Or it might be F@H if you're running that.

I just pulled the performance stats from the server and last night the core for TF2 #3 hit a max of 82% with an average load of 46%
Even if it were an option, upping the tickrate would make the problem worse. The dev's locked the tickrate at 66.
F@H hasn't been installed on the server.
I'll login to the server tonight and take a look at things more in-depth. From what I understand it only starts happening at a certain point at night right? If you guys can let me know what that time is that would be great
I know what you mean about this. Sometimes i'll jump around a corner into serious amounts of action and (in the worst cases) it even takes like half a second for everyone to appear or move.
But often in times of heavy action it almost seems like everything is lagging hard. Even when it isn't.
Mano how often do you reset the server? Maybe its just a caching thing?
Currently the servers are set to restart every Monday at 8am I think.
Considering how the choke happened last night and the night before that I don't think that it's caching. Good idea though Peter.
TF2 isn't designed for 32 players. I needed to install a modification on the server to even get the option. It could just be that.
Yea, the choke is probably because there's 32 players and it's saturating the clients rate or the servers sv_maxrate setting.
Is it that TF2 is limited on the server side sv_maxrate and it's not capable of keeping up to 32 players in action?
Does TF2/server side lock the clients rate setting,... could we test by setting a players rate to 30000+ and see if the choke goes away?

sv_maxrate was set to 25000
I've moved it up to 31000 in the mean time
