NHL 08/09 Season Discussion Thread!

Tomorrow the season will commence in Europe. I've been anxious for the entire summer for the season to start again. To get you guys hyped, here are two videos of the best goals of the 07/08 season.

i miss the lockout.

oh well though, at least the leafs suck. it is a shame however that it doesnt deter the leafs fans.

I think this season will be really interesting, there are a lot of teams that are begining to look good again, and some teams that have been good for a while are begining to slip up. However all that being said I still expect a Detroit vs Pitsburgh Final again this year.

Oh God, Can't wait until the Hab's opener on October 10th. It's gonna be awesome.

And I think the Habs have a real shot this year. The team has arguably shored up alot of what it was lacking from last year, and well, they were a BEAST last year.

Really really looking forward to this.

And hockey is also a great excuse to go out :D

As a Leaf fan, I hope they suck.
In my dream season, they go 8-74 (beating Ottawa eight times, just to make the Senators and their fans go fucking insane) and grab the first pick in the 2009 draft.
Then I hope they go 8-74 again and grab the first pick in the 2010 draft.
Then another 8-74.
Followed by one final year of 8-74 and another top draft pick.

I call it the "Senators Plan (circa 1992-1996)". Now there was a franchise that knew how to suck, winning 51 games out of 290, and scarfing up good young picks like Yashin, Demitra, Bonk, Alfredsson, Berard, Phillips and Hossa.
They were the greatest team of losers the NHL had ever seen. They were even able to turn their regular season suck skill into an even better post-season suck skill later on.

I think you better do a bit of reading, I will give you 2 hours to fix some errors in your plan.

Best time of the year.. im Hopeing my Habs don;t get to cocky and make a nice run for it.. there 100th year. wouldn't it be nice?...

Leafs have a long way to go.. but ya never ron could turn thing around..
